Still like markers but the ability play anytime anywhere is awesome... Is it iPad optimized?

Great Game / Great Support

The game itself is creative and wonderful and this on-screen version makes it easy to play on the go. The developer is very responsive to customer comments and requests.

I love how this app allows Microscope RPG players to keep a digital record of their game play. It is also handy for traveling players, who may or may not have a flat surface on which to put index cards and other materials. There are, however, two issues which could use improvement. First, when I used the app to create a PDF of the history my friends and I had created, some information got cut off, whether I used landscape or portrait view. In landscape view, the fourth (of four) legacies was completely missing, and in both views, some information got cut off at the bottom of the second page, and did not carry over to the next page. The other issue is more of a suggested change. I was inputting the above-mentioned history after the fact of the game itself, and had gotten a couple of the legacies switched as to who created them. It would be great if the app had a feature in which editing elements after they had been saved were possible. I also tried editing elements (with new information given from elements added later in the game), but could not do so. It would also be great if players' names and email addresses could be edited after they had been created. I had originally left out a few email addresses, thinking to add them later, but I could not edit the player records to add those email addresses. Making player records and game elements editable and fixing the PDF formatting problem would make me able to give this app a 5-star rating, but I cannot at this time.

Great! Now I just need friends.

I love Microscope! It's a fun concept that's relatively easy to understand. The only limit is your imagination and the imaginations of your friends. I know a lot of non-gamers may feel a little awkward telling a story but it's really a fun exercise/activity. Now I just need to find people to play! Regarding the app, it's a perfect complement to the game. I love that the game will guide you along with a tutorial. This makes it very helpful to get a feel for game flow. Again, the only difficulty you have is on you since you have to come up with your own content. For some reason I can't get this on my iPad 2. Perhaps it's too old? I feel that it would be best suited for that device. I have a 7+ and it's okay. All in all it's a great companion if you're a player!
