Why on earth would kids need a messenger app? I downloaded it and checked it out and it seems pretty cool and safe for them, but I mean why do they need to have this? If anything you guys at Facebook should be making better apps for the grownups. I’ve requested an actual FB Lite or at least messenger Lite app for iPhone users and get nothing. That “Friendly” for Facebook app is good, but not good enough. I have an iPhone SE, so it’s not an old or low quality phone, but it does only have 16GB of storage and just the Facebook app alone takes up WAY too much space, add in Messenger and basically all my storage for other things is filled up. Please consider making those “Lite” versions for all phones and stop wasting time on silly apps for kids. Or at least take the size of the already existing apps and cut them way back.

My 11yo daughter loves being able to talk to friends and family on her device, but I’m not a huge fan of her being able to delete messages or hide things. I feel like this is a great option for kids who are old enough to use a messaging program, but not quite old enough to be trusted to make great decisions 100% of the time. My only request is being able to have multiple parental controllers - our blended family has 3 individuals who should be able to monitor her account.
Push notifications are not working

This is great app so far but the push notifications, even though set up, are not working on my sons phone or mine (I set up one on my phone to watch what's being messaged to him)

I like the fact that you can hang out with fam if your acrossed the world but if you text too much that isn’t good.

My son or his friend doesn’t have FB, but have this app. We have reinstalled the app numerous times but still unable to add the boys to chat.

Its a really great app for older children who are learning how to use social media. With the use of other parental controls, this app allows me to communicate with my child on her ipad without the need for a cell phone. It doesn't give them the option to delete their history - which is GREAT! I have a kid that likes to frequently make bad choices. This limits that. I wish it had the option to rotate orientations for iPads that are connected to keyboards. It's inconvenient to have an app that works in only one orientation.

I am a child but I read the newspaper and I was really excited when I saw this because you have to be 18+ to get an Facebook account and this was kinda one for kids my age and it is like the most popular app since that video of the cat playing the piano and I know some parents might be worried about there kids not getting out and learning and me myself I love school but you like my mom can set a time for them to play and a time for them to get off this is an app that is safe and I recommend it! ???

This app is really cool, partially because it allows Apple devices to text to other types of devices, Which is really convenient considering that most of my family does not have Apple devices. This app is amazing. Get it now!
