Disappointing

lerico

I just paid $210 for a Merlin license and now they want me to spend another $65 just so I can look at my project on a tiny little iPhone screen? I don't think so. I'd pay $10 for this app but beyond that it's just not worth it to me. I've deleted it from my phone.

Not what it looks like.

I paid $65 for this app's license to be able to edit projects on the road. Guess what? I can't. I can only edit project while connected to my computer through my local network, in which case my computer is next to me so it doesn't make sense to use the iPhone. It has a lot features that make it very useful but if you can't edit projects offline and then sync to your computer then it's not worth it.

I'd love it...if it worked!!

Set everything up but every time my iPhone accesses the Merlin file my MacBook crashes!! What's up with that?! A fix would be nice to make me happy. Hopefully someone reads these remarks and makes some changes to this app. It has potential to make some money if it was done properly.

Too expensive

$65 is just too expensive on top of $210 for the app itself. Especially since you can't work 'offline' on the iPhone and sync up changes via MobileMe or an equivalent.

works pretty well- but missing a few features

What I love = having my project in my pocket, being able to view gantt chart and activities. An absolute great thing. = that I may be able to change project info on the iPhone (but may need tricky config) What I am missing = search. I'd love to be able to search for a certain activity and look up its status, expected finish time etc. I am in my boss' office and he wants to know about a task… on the small screen, it can take a while to find that in a large project…. search to the rescue. = when taping on a lowest level activity, I get an empty screen. I'd expect to get the same as when clicking on the blue arrow, e.g get the inspector. = A better explanation on how to setup the connection if you are behind a NAT router. I've mostly used it with bonjour, and that seems fine.

Thanks, but no thanks

I already felt that the initial investment was high, but loved the features and layout of the desktop app. Now you expect me to pay this much more for the iPhone limited functionality application.... not going to happen. The iPhone is only good as a point of reference.. not for managing a project. I had higher expectations.

Merlin says Good Bye to the iPad - and to me

iPhonerd

I am a long time Merlin user and had some sympathy that the firm produced just a project viewer for the small screen iPhone. However, the iPad is another ball game. There is already SG Project with a very basic quasi-beta version. In its 2.0 or 3.0 version - which I expect in the coming months - these apps will be quite useful - hopefully. And there is Omniplan, which I never used but will have a quality comparable with OmniFocus and OmniGraffle. The OmniPlan for iPad is announced for this year and will blow the Merlin viewer for iPad away. The iPad is made for productive apps, not for just a viewer solution. Seeing the overwhelming amount of one star ratings above I give up any hope that Merlin2 will be my app of choice for project-management. Thanks, but no thanks. So I will use either SG or OP, definitely not this M2 app.

App is Free. License to sync with Merlin not free

JackRyan53719

Merlin iPhone/iPad app is free however to sync with your Merlin project management mac app is not free; it requires an additional license of $49. Once purchase it performs sync over the air (pairing iPhone with your Mac) if using wireless not 3G/cellular. If you're a user of Merlin the iPhone app is a convenient add-on to glance at any projects and task without being in front of computer but it comes at a cost.

iPhone/ipad viewer free app co$t

aka LGgeek

this app is just viewer which is not that useful ,everything still has to be done on osx app which is free to download but to use. don't bother .

Not very user friendly.

Will be removing this app. It starts out with wanting me to add a server! But then there is no help for what they are talking about. This app does not appear to be for the beginner. It says it works on the iPad but the help screen only talks about the iPhone.
