This is what i have been looking for. (If the alarm does not sound, go into settings and make sure the Sound button is turned on)

Not efficient. Tiny buttons. Stop recording not intuitive. Overall cumbersome UI makes it fairly useless to record and file audio memos quickly. Minimal playback options.

Am I doing something wrong? I push the recorded icon, choose a color, the bar says it's recording, but it doesn't record and it freezes up. If I can figure it out, or an update fixed it, I plan on giving it more stars. I do love it, but not being able to use the recorder is disappointing!!! ??? Please do an update to fix bugs in the recording part of the app!

UPDATE: Doesn't work with the new iOS 8. Please Fix! ---- ...I already did the footwork for you. If you looking for an "on the fly", in the car, on the sidewalk, in the store, at your desk... fast voice memo recorder - you'll probably not do better than this app. [The app also handles quick written notes as well.] I looked at around 15 different voice memo apps. Pretty much all of the other applications assume that you need to record a college lecture, a long business meeting, or your rock band in the basement. Maybe you do. If that's the case, this app is not ideal for that purpose. One more thing. I didn't notice this at first, but with this app you can custom assign/name the different color labels to various categories of your choosing (home, work, shopping, bills, etc.) - for quick recall, when you are looking back over your voice recordings. The bottom line is: this app is designed for total speed and convenience. Personally, I'm very pleased with this voice recorder and I have since upgraded to the paid version.
