Studies show that English spelling is best learned with the Basal Method, which is the progressive study of carefully designed words lists beginning in elementary school and ending in the 8th grade*. Meerkat Spell provides the the appropriate word patterns for student to learn up to the middle school level, with more than 300 word lists containing a total of 2,600 words.

Great app for spelling. Problem is that I have purchased the upgrade and it will not download. Waste of time when you child has to wait six minutes between games.
Okay but could use improvement

Good range of spelling words and level of words. It would be worth purchasing if a parent had the option to input specific spelling words required by the school each week. The mini games are exactly the same as meerkat math and I have a kid who likes math better than spelling. Different mini games would make this a more attractive app. However, if u have a kid who loves spelling more than math, then it would be a worthwhile purchase in lieu of the math meerkat.
