Fun game. Closer to oldschool games like railroad tycoon than the newer fluff that tries to pass itself off as an economic sim. There are a few bugs that can crash the game, but luckily it autosaves frequently.

Other than the known bug it plays fine. Although it is not a anno or pratrican it is still the closest thing I have found yet. 4 stars due to crash bug..

Played literally 10 minutes and had 9 CRASHES. Minor bug does not make the game unplayable. Don't release with bugs such as these, save your cash.

All it does is crash. Play maybe 2 minutes and it crashes... Reopen, play maybe 2 minutes and it crashes. Repeat. Playtest the game before you sell it, please!

The bug seems to be a little more than crashing if you do not have a ship in transit. It crashes constantly even when not ending a turn. Think with some adjustments it would be a really good game.

Crashes frequently to the point that you can't play three turns in row and sometimes after every turn! 2.99 price is so we early adopters can file bug reports so the dev can fix the various issues. Stay away from this.

—— Update: Crash bug is GONE! Not making excuses but if you read their blog they had issues with Apple getting the update out in a timely manner. But! crashes are now gone, game is fun, lots to do, presents a challenge, and is very well made. A great simulation and highly recommended.

Update for v1.1: I figured I'd try to play the game since the crash bug is allegedly gone. I write "allegedly" because now I can't even get a game to start. I tried starting a new game, the loading screen came up, music played, and the progress bar eventually reached 100%. Then...nothing! The loading screen remained, the music kept playing, and that was it. After quitting and restarting the app I finally got a game going. As I wrote before the tutorial is very weak...you'll spend some time trying to figure out what to do and how to do it. The UI makes little sense. Try closing the trading screen with the red X at the bottom...won't work. You need to use the red X at the top left (top left? Who puts the close button there?) If you like the sound of coins just keep hitting the green check mark. And if you like the sound of real coins then keep them in your pocket and don't buy this game. There are better trading games out there --------------------------------------------- v1.0 review As others have written, the game is completely unplayable as-is. The bug is not "minor"...what the developer fails to mention is that early in the game (including during the rather anemic tutorial) you will never have a ship in transit. This means the game will crash every turn. It does not matter that there is a fix in to Apple. There is no excuse for releasing a game in such a state...the most basic level of testing would have revealed this issue. Clearly the developers have no understanding of test plans or regression testing. As a professional software developer I know of what I speak. Unfortunately the developers lived up to the name "rapidrabbit". They should pay heed to the fable and not rush their products out the door. As for the game itself, based on the few turns I've played I don't think it's worth full price, especially if rapidrabbit was as careless with game design as they are with software quality.

Thanks for fixing the crash bug, I am finding this to be a very stable game now. I have put some hours into it, trying to see if it gets more interesting with time, but I feel this is a very bland game. There is no tension during play, there is no direct interaction with the computer opponents, there is little sensation of town growth, the difficulty is too easy with no option of making it harder, the random events are too few and uninteresting, the quests are uninspiring, and there is just not much depth. I enjoy the trading genre, and really wanted to like this game, but for me it falls flat.
