Better than having nothing from Apple, however....

Patiently awaiting perfection!

Installed on iPhone 4 As an update to my comments below, this version corrected ALL of the issues mentioned and TOTALLY meets my needs. Will purchase to take advantage of changing the crossfade amount of time. Media Mix's crossfade function works exactly as I hoped it would. As others mentioned, pressing the <FORWARD> button does causes two songs to play at the same time. Also, pressing the <BACK> button causes the now-playing song to start over, but with the initial play still going (i.e., the same song playing at the same time but from two different starting points). However, pressing the <PAUSE> button after the <FORWARD> or <BACK> button, and then the <PLAY> button, appears to circumvent this problem, thus returning to only one song playing.

It's hard to be too negative about this app since no other player seems to handle this. Another feature glaringly absent from iPhone player that was available on the old Shuffle. Running on 3G. Little buggy but works pretty well. Sometimes fails to launch. Sometimes stops working at end of song. Sometimes won't start up. Here's hoping new version will rectify these and navigation issues mentioned in prior posts.

Crossfade made easy with a minor snag

NicaDomi

It was interesting to me that the ability to crossfade in iTunes didn't transfer over to the iPhone/iPod Touch. It was a nice feature that allowed music to smoothly flow from one track to another. I found a few apps that did the job, but they were more like DJ apps which required attention, adjusting the actual crossfading as well as speeding the track up or slowing it down. This little app does it well. Go to the queue, and load up your playlist or tracks. Sort them in an order or let the app shuffle them. Then just hit play. It's a simple app that does the one job well. The only qualm I have, which is an odd one, is that if I hit play/pause on my headphones, my iPod plays, not pausing or playing the music in the app. It's as if Music Mix is running on a different stream than my iPod. It's much different than when listen to music on Pandora or Soundhound app, which trump my iPod app. It also means one can only skip/pause songs on the app and not with the headphone controls. Very strange. I hope it would be fixed in a future update. Other than that qualm, it's a great app, especially when working at a computer or hitting the gym.

kinda new to this...

Works well

Does exactly what I wanted. Let's me build my music list with crossfade. Perfect for workouts and parties. Can't adjust the fade, but it's a minor shortcoming.

What is this?

None of the features works as described! When I launch the app a randomly sequenced collage of album cover images flashes across the screen real fast. Tapping the images does nothing. The simply stop sequencing when they "feel" like it. I have no control over what track, or group of tracks, to play. Digital anarchy best describes this program.

Made NYE party ROCK!!

So far it's doing exactly what it says it will. Add playlist, press play, crossfades the songs. I don't get how this isn't built into the iPhone options. Edit: used it at tonights party and it kicked butt!! Awesome app. Might start using it in my way to work from now, cross fade is awesome :)

Stupid

All this is is a shuffle. Pointless

I LOVE THIS APP!

My life now has an original sound track! App does exactly what I need. Keeps the music going. Only thing I would consider would be a cover art finder, but sure there's an app for that, lol!

Can't control which songs

delena76

I need a manual because I wanted it to play songs from a particular playlist and it's grabbing music from somewhere else. How can I make it play from one playlist?
