About McMenamins

So many features. I find myself wandering around the app in the same way I wander through the properties. I love how it allows me to track my passport stamps and shows me places near me and what drinks are on tap and how I can favorite locations and drinks.

I first want to state that I am an ardent fan of Mcmennamins and I think the passport is one of the most brilliant marketing campaigns ever. What I have come to expect from McMenamins is top notch quality, Great beer, consistent good food, friendly staff, and above all else a wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately I don't think the iPhone app is up-to this standard. My experience has been that it is slow, clunky to navigate, addresses do not transfer to a mapping program to assist in planing a passport adventure. It crashes or freezes often and kinda difficult to navigate. I find many times the web site does this better. Also I was hoping for a few features that would assist in stamp retrieval. I have also found many times the what is on tap is not always up to date. This is annoying when I am wanting to track down a particular beer. What I do like is the ability to keep track of the stamps I have and to see information on the locations. Some ideas for the app. App specific specials would be nice, somehow incorporate a trip planner around the stamps not yet retrieved. The ability to track the prizes along the way. Some way to verify or show cosmic tripster status. The ability to book tickets for shows or movies and redeem cosmic tripster tickets through the app. It would also be nice if the history for each site/stamp was in the app. This would help make the experience a little more interactive. Since I am sure their is an update in the works I hope this feed back is helpful.

I've counted the days until McMenamins came out with an app...I was so excited and ready...now I'm just disappointed. Every time I want to go into the 'Passport' feature, I have to log back in. Even when I check the "please keep me signed in." Box. And every time I get kicked out. On top of that. It takes ages to load. Doesn't matter if I'm connected to wifi or not..ages. So much improvement is needed. I do LOVE that it will keep me up to date with what beers are where...but maybe in the next update I can see them in a location view, instead of getting my hopes up only to click on it (and wait for it to load) and find its only in Bend.

This app is a great idea but is sluggish and needs improvement. The first day I installed it, it was very sluggish in response time. The next few times , I haven't been able to log in. First, I checked the box to keep me logged in, and it doesn't. Second, I've tried logging in and it says my password is invalid. I use one of four passwords, so tried each one in case I forgot which one I used; still invalid. I submitted a request for a password reset 3-4 times, and no email.
