Mazec

TryGuy

Best handwriting recognition I’ve ever used. It is typically very accurate, though there can be an odd effect when adding a period (to end a sentence). On some occasions, the period will cause an accurate string of words to become unintelligible; removing the period restores the accurate recognition. There is also some inefficient use of screen space on the iPhone XS Max. These issues aside, it is very good for writing.

Works, but hard to use on new iPad Pro

Hamdinger

The app works as advertised, and the handwriting recognition is high quality. Unfortunately, the lack of a bottom “chin” on the new iPad Pro means that there is not enough room to rest one’s hand and write comfortably. Would sacrifice a larger keyboard for more space.

5 Stars with a couple of tweaks.

Eddiemoto

1. Adding a spacebar cursor like function similar to the default keyboard would be very functional. 2. Dark mode or basic theme possibilities. 3. Better support for Apple pencil 2. Double tap and maybe a little more space for#paint. rest.

Works Great

Shelly in the Midwest

I debated spending the $ on this keyboard app, but it is the only handwriting recognition keyboard I can find. Having used it, I'm very glad I bought it. It works almost flawlessly, and when it isn't flawless it's easy to correct. I have an iPad 2018 running 12.1 and a 2nd gen. Apple pencil.

What a waste of money

Carpet box

Pretty upset right now... just dropped the cash to get an app that doesnt work very well at all. Im a guy and write like a guy, this app will only work for girls perfect hand writing... if yer a doctor... dont even bother.

Nearly unusable on new iPad Pros

TheD@ve

The handwriting recognition is quite good, even with my atrocious cursive. However, the small, static writing area is too close to the bottom on the new 3rd gen iPad Pros, leaving nowhere to rest your hand. Kind of reminds me of the phrase "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" because it's basically unusable in spite of itself. I'd happily change my review to five stars if the writing area were increased or, better yet, made resizable.

needs 2 things

MaybeTinEar

5 stars because this provides a very enjoyable experience, and I use it most of the time. needed: - a custom dictionary, as mazec is highly dictionary-oriented (to add words, for example “mazec”, that mazec just doesn’t know - the provided user dictionary is something totally different, a text expansion tool) - stop this from happening: if you write, then stop to see what mazec thinks you typed, and you think, “ok, good.” and keep writing, sometimes it totally changes past words. mazec should never totally lose old guesses, but it sometimes does. also would be nice: - scribble to mark out - a training utility to teach the system your weird letters, so you don’t have to adjust as much - something to make punctuation easier to add, especially when starting a new line in mazec, but continuing one you’re writing (for example: “, or so he thought.” is hard to enter - the leading punctuation is sometimes recognized as something else.

Really slow since IOS Update

chibiuniverse7

I used to really like this app. However since the new IOS update the writing recognition has become very slow and hard to write. I hope there will be an update to the app to fix this

Exactly what I was looking for

Sub111

I'm glad I found this. After using a handwriting keyboard on my note 9, I realized a handwriting keyboard was what I was looking for an the iPad. I'm loving it because I love using the apple pencil and now I can use it more.
