Absolutely the best!

By far the best app on the App market for leaning kana and it’s absolutely free! The developer should be proud for the high quality and educational app. Typically it’s hard to get that combination.

Great app!

Great app - great structure and simplicity with well designed drills. One thing: some English words were not fitting in my screen and need smaller font. Would be helpful if advanced offered different style fonts for improving recognition especially common computer cursive style. Would be great if it offered tracing to learn to write. Thanks for this app!

I love this

The person who made this is hilarious with what they say like the punishment ad lmao?

Hiragana Drill

1st Time Learner

This drill is an excellent means for learning hiragana. Thank you. Now it’s on to Katakana!

Love it

Effective. Thank you!

Good app, few issues

I liked the app a lot, there are a few things that could be better though: The vocabulary is limited. A lot of phrases repeat a lot. When testing you, oftentimes if you know a single character, you can answer correctly. That may be a feature but it “makes you look good” even though you need more practice. I ended up covering answers and visualizing the characters, then looking the answer up. There seems to be a typo on the title screen? I thought it was konnichiwa not konnichiha. No dakuten practice. I know dakuten is easy once you have basics down, but I need to drill it a bit anyway. Would love being able to type answer not just pick in “expert mode”.

Just what I was looking for

I’ve tried lots of apps to learn both kanas. Most are pretty straightforward in drilling you single kanas. Kana Drill however challenges you with words from the current set of kana you’re learning. This is something I find highly effective in helping me learn. Kana Drill also has a very clean and easy navigate UI. One I would expect from a paid app, not a free one. If you’re looking for an app to learn your kanas then I highly recommend Kana Drill!

I’m a total beginner learning the language on my own and trying to memorize both the Hiragana and Katakana charts. This app helped me memorize both. I like that it has a mini dictionary to let you know what words mean (I’m not too concern about definitions at the moment, I’m strictly focusing on learning each character). The helpful part about this app testing you with words is that it allows the app to throw multiple characters at the same time so that you can memorize multiple ones easier. Lastly, what I also love is that it won’t let you pass to other row of characters until you know the current row well enough. DOWNLOAD IT! SUGGESTION TO DEVELOPER: I like that you have the Hiragana and Katakana drills separate, BUUUTTT it would also be nice to have a third drill with a combination of both even if you don’t drill us including actual words. It can just be random characters thrown at us using combination of both Hiragana and Katakana. OR ... if you want, just use the same words but mix the spelling of the words using a combination of both Hiragana and Katakana. Thank you!

Perfect.
