Making Camp makes math fun. Build out your virtual wigwam while reviewing basic operations – addition, subtraction, multiplication and division – and problem-solving strategies. Choose from “Numbers” to work on your math skills or “Life” to learn about Ojibwe (Chippewa) Indian life on the plains hundreds of years ago.
Choose from six hands-on math activities where problems are randomly generated, so you can play them again and again.
Learn and earn by selecting from a dozen videos on math and social studies.
Customize your own virtual world, building and filling up your wigwam with 20 different interactive items.
All math items are aligned to state standards.
In-app purchase (coming in November) will include double the content and option to save your wigwam plus unlock language arts category.
Making Camp Ojibwe is fun because it has really great math games that are also fun. I really like how you can learn and have fun at the same time.
Downloaded for my granddaughter who played it for hours. Since she needed a review on her math, having her do it without whining was a major bonus.
Making Camp teaches math and has great fun activities to keep kids engaged and entertained. Plus it includes Native America history. But more than anything, my kids love playing it because it's fun! They love getting items for their wigwam. Definitely recommend!
One of the best math apps I've come across. My kids love playing it and are learning and practicing math in their free time! Great having an educational app on the iPad that my kids actually ask to play. Highly recommend!
I'm writing this review for my 8-year-old granddaughter who plays the game. She loved it - played until she had earned every prize in the game. She was happy to have a fun way to practice for her math class and study for an upcoming test. Her only complaint was that she wanted more items to earn and more activities so that she could play more.
This is my modern day Oregon Trail! Upgraded for the times and the new way these kids learn. Informal functional and helpful for cognitive development and max knowledge for problem solving. #TechWomen killed on this one. It would take a Judoka
Well, it doesn't have guns or first-person shooting strategy games.... or driving down a race track or rescuing princesses after battling the bonus level boss...... it's actually intelligent, makes you think and lets you learn something!!!! And I learned that I didn't know my multiplication tables like I used to.... my 6 yr old boy genius kicked my butt in this..... I was proud of him, and embarassed of me.... so yah, this is an awesome game!!!
This is a fun and interactive way to learn. It's a cute app with nice graphics and sound effects. Absolutely recommended :-)
Wow. A few months back I had the privilege of meeting Dr. AnnMaria De Mars. As an MIT Graduate and former Researcher (in Gaming and Comp Sci), I found her and her company's quest for new, more insightful ways of Education, astounding. 7 Generation Games is not going for a big sell-out on Wall Street, or trying to become the next social media 'fad.' No. Like my parents who where both teachers, she believes in using new technologies to educate - in a more intuitive, entertaining and fundamentally efficient way. When you do the research on this company, AND Dr DeMars (Ronda Rousey's mom, Maria-Burns Ortiz's mom and the first judoka / woman ever to bring home a World Championship in Judo-try to top that!), you realize besides the amazing job she has done with all her daughters, Dr DeMars has really tapped into something new in Education. Not only do our young students love this game our family's kids are asking all kinds of questions while they earn all their prizes.
