This is a fantastic product overall, but I am sick of clicking on seashells and chasing blinking dots. I know how a queen moves already at session 35 on Medium difficulty. I don’t need to keep losing timed challenges. I just want to learn how to play chess.

Since finishing the app's course, my rating on lichess.org has increased by 250 points in less than a month for both bullet and blitz, with no sign of slowing down. The courses are great, better than reading any chess book. Well organized lessons and puzzles made to strengthen all-around chess skills, and throughout, you feel like Magnus himself is talking to you personally. Worth every penny.

The app should do far more to encourage retention of learned concepts and openings. As it currently stands, the app drops some knowledge, and boom, it’s never seen again. Please implement features to encourage retention.

I can’t even tell what pieces are what. Terrible old fashioned piece design.

The app teaches chess in a format that allows people to carry over what they learn over to real games relatively easy, which I like. It gives a good bearing on fundamentals and basics and is overall a great app to learn from. However, I have to rate it two stars because of how the course path is horribly set up. You can’t skip through lessons that you don’t need to learn, so if you want to continue you have to suffer through learning what you already knew. But most importantly, the Raja’s riddle game needs serious tweaking. Some of the puzzles can be solved in multiple ways but the app only recognizes one. Furthermore, if you choose the wrong motif/mate, it doesn’t let you see the right answer, which holds back learning more than anything. Lastly, it’s stupid that you can’t skip the games in the lessons when it never tells you the right answers so you can learn anyway.

Since the new update I’m unable to use this app. I’m paying every month without being able to use it. So planning to cancel subscription

It’s helping a hit - a lot of the lessons are pay2play but it seems nice from what I’ve done so far Nice little mini games to kill time but it’s less of a “trainer” and more of a resource A trainer would be like, this app does a game against you and finds your weaknesses This app more of just provides all the resources for you to learn and expects ya to study - which I do Overall, good app but not the best it could be (MILES better than Chess.com though so that’s a plus, thanks Magnus :) )

This app is very engaging and follows the pedagogy that works; ABC = activity before content. Very useful. Thanks.
