But ultimately ended up being very worth it. It’s addicting in a positive and constructive way. Teaches lessons while challenging you with increasingly difficult games but never makes you feel bad if you fail a time or two first. The app definitely wants you to succeed on your own.

I play this game almost everyday! I use to be a really bad chess player until I played this app. Now I play games everyday and make them competitive. I would recommend this app to anyone who is an active chess player.

I’ve recently been struggling in chess, so much that I deleted my online account out of frustration. I have the Play Magnus and Trainer apps and they are helping me greatly. The amount of lessons are very helpful and the interactivity of the app helps me learn much better than reading chess books.

I chuckle every time I see Magnus do one of his silly responses to how you did on a given puzzle or when completing a lesson. I’m not a new chess player, but I’ve never really studied it before, and my word is there tons to learn. This App makes it easy to understand does a good job of not only explaining concepts, but showing them in practice, making it easier for all sorts of learners to grasp ahold of the important details. It feels like there’s a lot of content sitting behind the membership paywall, but this is a small complaint as there is still a plethora of activities available for the free members. In conjunction with the Play Magnus App, I’m having a wonderful time improving my gameplay, slowly but surely.
