Fun old school RPG

lex3001

When I was a kid I loved Ultima and similar RPGs. I really enjoyed Lowlander, and when I found out there was a sequel I had to get it! Lowerlander does not disappoint. Game play is very similar to Lowlander but you are in a whole new world to explore. If you get stuck there is a forum at Touch Arcade where folks will help. This game also works offline -- I'm kind of bummed I already finished it since I have a long flight coming up. I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it if you like this kind of game. The only downsides are that some of the NPC have some questionable things to say, and there are a couple more challenging challenges in the game. Overall though 5 stars!

Classic old school Ultima-like RPG game

I would give this ten stars if I could. "Lowerlander," and its predecessor "Lowlander," are epic top-down RPG games. Huge in scope and dynamic in storyline, this game is a lot of fun. Hours and hours of playing time. Humor is used often and well. This is absolutely brilliant and 100% worth your efforts. For those of us who grew up paying $50 a game for DOS creations of the 1980s, the mere pennies for this game in today's dollars is an incredible investment! Have fun!!!

Ultima on iPad

You won't find a modern app that comes closer to capturing the early Ultima experience. It lacks the classic characters we knew and loved and the dungeon trekking is different, but it is grand in scope with puzzles sprinkled throughout. It works very well on the iPad, easy to play in periodic intervals. There is a lot to build on if the app maker continues on to Lowlander III.

Love this game!

Great old school RPG that takes me back to my Ultimate II days on Apple II+. Funny with some really clever bits

Pretty Good

Lowerlander is a love letter to the old days of Ultima. It has all the old quirks of old-school RPGs, but enough modern references to make any millennial chuckle to themselves. The only suggestion I could make is have an endgame randomized dungeon just for some extra replayability. However, the most recent update has caused the boot screen to be wayy too zoomed in, and for some reason the game has frame rate issues on a 5s when before the game had no frame rate issues at all. Besides that, I'd definitely recommend this to old-school RPG fans and newer RPG fans alike.

Magnificent. Must buy.

For fans of the old Apple][ Ultima games, this is a treat. Huge, fun, funny and great support from its developer. I can't recommend it highly enough. Six stars if I could.

One of the best RPGs on iOS!

Don’t be fooled by the old school graphics, this is a deep game with a huge world. Progression is smooth, with just the right amount of grinding to improve your character. The story, characters, and dungeons are all interesting. Best of all, the game is FUN! And no in app purchases! Easily worth the money if you are looking for a great RPG on iOS.
