Welcome to Little Red Riding Hood - What's YOUR version of the story?

Our Little Red Riding Hood app is a completely new take on the classic fairytale: for the first time ever, users can create their own story by choosing from multiple paths along the way, resulting in a new, fully-animated adventure with different endings every time.

Built with an innovative, user-generated narrative structure that immerses a child in the story, Little Red Riding Hood re-invents interactive storytelling. Readers play games to help Little Red Riding Hood collect three different objects in the course of her journey through the woods, choosing what items to gather at forks in the path. These objects determine how Little Red Riding Hood defeats the Big Bad Wolf and saves Grandma.

A revolutionary new form of non-linear narrative storytelling, with eight different routes through the tale – a sort of multimedia, animated 21st Century Choose-Your-Own-Adventure

Nine different games and activities embedded in the story

Innovative forms of interactivity: blow into the microphone to blow dandelions and a whistle; see yourself in a magical pool with the front-facing camera; tilt the screen to pour honey into a jar, and drag, swipe, tap and zoom to take part in the story and explore more of every scene

Rich and detailed artwork from the creator of Nosy Crow’s award-winning Cinderella and The Three Little Pigs apps

Fully animated: characters are constantly on the move

Hundreds of lines of dialogue for fifteen characters voiced by child actors

Hundreds of interactive touch-points

Original music by BAFTA award-winning composer, Robin Beanland

Text-highlighting to support emerging and early readers

Optimized for Retina Display and the iPhone 5.

Amazing
Dual Immersion Teacher

I am a first grade teacher and think this book is amazing. I teach first grade Spanish Dual Immersion. I gave it five starts because it is simply astonishing and magnificent. I was very disappointed to only have it in English. I would hope the developers can add Spanish and other languages as well.

Nosy Crow knocks it out of the ballpark yet again.

Nosy Crow consistently creates book apps that go above and beyond your basic read-aloud app for kids. They also push the envelope when it comes to creating book apps that don’t rely on gimmicky tricks and games to engage a child. As with their previous book apps like Cinderella, The Three Little Pigs and Animal SnApp Nosy Crow’s newest, Little Red Riding Hood, pushes the industry to higher levels than ever before. Nosy Crow’s take on the story of Little Little Red Riding Hood is clear and recognizable to fans of the classic story, but also not nearly as gruesome for the youngest of readers. Within the story there are ways for young readers to engage, but not in the typical ways that you’d find in a game-like book app. Instead there are options and paths for readers to choose that determine the pattern of interaction within the story. Scenes where Red comes to a path and must choose between spiders & bees add a level of engagement and creative thinking for even very little readers. This new version of Little Red Riding Hood is also one that as a mom of two kiddos can thoroughly love. From the mom in the story, who is gorgeous and a more natural size, to a very wicked looking wolf with fancy trousers on. The illustrations are unbelievably incredible; something I’ve come to expect from all the publications Nosy Crow produces in both print and digital formats. Here is a story you’ll want to sit down and read with your kiddos time and time again.

<3 this!

First, I readily admit that we are Nosy Crow app addicts. Not only do my two and four year old daughters beg to "read" with my iPad because of these stories, but this story far surpasses the others. The ability to change up the story with a few choices embedded within and the interactive design if the story, pages, actions REALLY bring this story to life a whole new way. We highly recommend this story. Only downfall for me was that we wish it came with Spanish language.

Daughter loved it!

Great production. Daughter loved it and wanted more 'such' stories.

I want my money back!

This is terrible. Don't buy.

Confusing
Andrew Coffey

Some of the activities reach a conclusion, but others just go on while the characters repeat boilerplate dialogue. Red Riding Hood repeats something like "We're making a bit of a mess." while filling jars of honey, even when the honey is going directly into the jar. And navigating through the story is awkward. Not worth the price.

Kids like it but even they get tired of the repetition of phrases. The developer should fix the looping of constant repeats in comments by characters.. Otherwise, kids like the tasks.

Oustanding

A superior rendering of a classic with enough interactive features to entertain but not so many to distract from the story; it's well done and even though the price is high, it's worth it.

Great Story
