I loved this game when it first came out. If you want to play a port of the original, this is great. If you expect a 'remaster' with new artwork and rethinking how to take best advantage of the platform, it isn't so great. The artwork and cinematics look painfully bad - jaggy text. Lots of reviews don't like the controls. I get how they work but I can't play it the way I want. Frustrating to not be able to swipe around and view, jumping is awkward and activates when you interact too close to your character. So for LBA2 please give us a high-fidelity version. The game is so well suited to a tablet platform and audience. (Imagine this game updated to an Oceanhorn standard. Classic reborn)

Don’t believe some negative reviews you might have read, this is a great and very thoughtful port of the classic game! The original game used keyboard for movement, and in iOS version developers had to do something different. To move Twinsen you need to tap and hold on the screen in the direction you want him to move. This is somewhat confusing in the beginning, but once you grasp the concept, it plays very nicely. Then, to aid potential platforming problems, developers have added visual clues (what is actionable and what is not) and visual guides for jumping and throwing magic balls - things that were not present in the original game, but make the overall experience much more pleasurable on a touch device. The game is not really playable on iPhone, it’s iPad where it shines, and I’m halfway through it, and must say, it’s still enjoyable. The characters are adorable, the world is full of little secrets and jokes. Voiceover lacks audio quality, but still very nicely done. I’m just hoping the second game will also be eventually ported to iOS.

Pure frustration. The controls are sooooo lame, they will make you want to tare the skin off your face.

Virtual game pad control makes replaying this game a dream. Actually easier to play cause I don't run into walls at all. Loved this game as a kid. So glad they released it for the iPad. Hope they come out with the second one too.
