Terrible app
kkkkkkkkkkk2

After an update for “stability improvement” the app has never crashed more than it does now...(and it crashes constantly anyway) You’d think these folks have an idea about technology and quality. It is beyond sub standard.

iOS 14.5

This broke the app. It now will not detect any my Linn zones now. Please fix!

Crash fest
Mr Nasim

The most recent update is a total crash fest. The app lives for maybe 30 seconds before crashing. Shape up!

Awful

I’ve been a Linn user for 25+ years. This interface is a throwback. Kinsky, which I now use more frequently is better. Not properly compatible with apple products. I have it installed on 7 apple devices. On three it will show tracks from my media server but, when selected, will tell me the track is not available. iPhone 10 app crashes repeatedly, generally after two or three songs. Linn,I love your equipment but am nearing the end of my rope. And it doesn’t help that you have shut down the community forum where others could help with solutions to issues.

One of the best audio apps there
J PDX

I can easily search, play and create playlists from local music, Tidal and Qobuz. Not only can you have a multi-source playlist, you can use that list on multiple players.

The worst APP
Jack.Vulpecula

This is The bad worse worst APP,after every updates,The APP cannot find The Linn DS。I must reinstall The APP to usually use.

Best effort yet!

Keep up the good work.

Buggy

I have used this App for many hours auditioning equipment on three iPads in two different audio retailers, and over the past week or two on my iPhone at home controlling two new Linn DSM products. Overall, it's adequate enough that I purchased the equipment, but I'm eagerly awaiting any future improvements and updates because it isn't that great. I compare this to 6 years using Sonos on iOS devices, and the Sonos software is superior in almost every way (I can't think of an exception offhand). Kazoo: can't search all sources at once (NAS, Tidal, etc). Poor organization of library titles (many folders, sub folders, backing up many arrows to leave the library, more). No Pandora or Rhapsody. Minor quibble: deleting items from the playlist is one-by-one, each two clicks instead of one fast swipe (example of overall barely adequate GUI/usability for a premium product). Major gripe: always stalls on Tidal searches (the only thing I've tried searching). Spinning wheel of waiting is fixed by closing and relaunching the app. This happens over and over when I'm actively searching and listening and reworking my playlist on the fly, music surfing. The first dealer said it must be their network. The second dealer said it must be their older iPad. When the newer iPad did it, they said it must be their network. At home my wired network is stable and working completely normally, and the dealer said it may be the 5G wifi, but it also happens when I switch to the slower non-5G wifi. They have my money, so I hope they get some usability experts to turn this thing around.

Just as bad as Kimsky

Dreadful UI, looks like it was written 20 years ago. Please give us a native iPhone app and not this grotesque clumsy throwback. You may think I'm being a little harsh, but this app even uses a "floppy disk" icon for save - and I don't believe it was designed to be nostalgic. Of course, the point is that users shouldn't have to explicitly save anything. It's ironic, Linn hardware is among the best in the world and their software among the worst!

Does not support iPhone X, UI is pretty rough
Technology Poet

The UI does not support iPhone X, the top menus weirdly overlap the notch and not easy to tap. The UI in the app is pretty rough - circa 1990 music UI. A few improvements I’d like to see: •iPhone volume buttons control Linn volume •integration with now playing (to allow volume adjust and next track from lock screen and Apple Watch) •Allow add to playlist from the currently playing track (super hard to create playlists while listening otherwise) •Remove duplicate entries in Album view for albums with multiple artists •Local caching of items to quickly display album art and lists of albums •A lighter theme that doesn’t feel depressing (think Apple Music) •Better designed controls for play/next etc. they look like a child drew them •Ability to have a default music server and remove other services not used from sidebar •Show album view or playlist view right away instead of an instruction to drop down the menu Happy to share more if the developers want to reach out to me.
