Old Pulse was great, new one needs negative stars
Zach509717

I was a long time user of the old Pulse, several years. And a recent update made it basically worthless. I am going to stop using the app completely and shut down my LinkedIn account due to this, it's ridiculous. They took a great app, that I used multiple times a day, and demolished it. If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. Now I use Feedly and it works just not as good as the old Pulse, but try it because it is good.

Terrible update

LinkedIn completely ruined the real Pulse app.

LinkedIn Ruined It

Pulse used to be the best news aggregator. LinkedIn relaunched the app last year and stopped updating feeds to the old versions. Unfortunately the new version is a completely different product. And not a great one. Old version: -Allowed users to add news from numerous primary sources, including blogs, across a wide range of topics -Displayed articles in easy to view tiles, so that many articles could be seen at once -Displayed news by publication, with a history of stories, so you could see ones from prior days/weeks -Allowed users to organize news by topics, pages, etc. -Essentially, the old app allowed the user to curate their own news, with great visual organization that allowed the user to quickly find and scan for articles of interest New version: -Is basically just the LinkedIn news feed -Is news-feed style, so you have to scroll to see articles one-by-one vs. being able to scan tiles -Does not allow you to easily find articles by a topic or publication; you have to scroll through all of them as LinkedIn feeds them to you -Allows only limited addition of news sources, most of which are topics curated by LinkedIn rather than primary news sources -Mostly feeds you articles that come from your LinkedIn profile, which is simultaneously limiting because it feeds you too many articles just from your industry and irrelevant because it feeds you articles from that one person you linked with at that networking event 10 years ago -Essentially, LinkedIn curates a feed for you and if you're interested in something else, you're out of luck Maybe some LinkedIn users find this interesting. For anyone who was a loyal user of the original Pulse, this is a 180 degree departure from that well-loved app - the only thing that's remained the same is the name. Instead of putting you in control, it puts LinkedIn in control. No thanks. Off to find a replacement....

This app used to be good before LinkedIn. Now I use Reddit for all my news.

Soooo disappointed
Sykochik

I absolutely loved the old app and checked it several times a day--what's the deal?? Nothing dies harder than a bad idea...

Ruined a great App.

Pulse use to be my #1 favorite app. This is coming from someone who buys/downloads about 10 apps a week since 2010. The original pulse was free but I gladly would have paid for it. LinkedIn has forever ruined their reputation with me for changing this app that I would never use. Ever. Why not allow the old one to keep going?

Terrible
TalentedDuck

Old Pulse = tell us what you like and we will show you! New Pulse = spend a lot of time individually assessing and rating stories that we'll hamfist together for you based exclusively on your work industry. Terrible

I really miss the old Pulse

Bring original Pulse back!
