I loved these puzzles when they debuted in Games magazine, then in World of Games, and then on Conceptis' website. I spend way too much time with this app, but I live it!

Enjoyable but too detailed for effective solving on the phone. Excellent on my tablet!

I have never gotten into the Paint By Numbers puzzles in Games Magazine, but gave these a shot. I enjoyed them so much that I looked up the publisher and bought 3000 credits on their website so I would have puzzles forever. Then I did so many in a day that my hand hurt, so I decided to see if there was an app. I've been hooked for a couple days on the app now. It took a bit to get the controls doen but now I'm fast. I very rarely leave reviews for apps, so know that this review is sincere and means something. Such a fun game. :)

However, I really wish these puzzles didn't use a little box to draw with. I've done puzzles like these before, and all that was required was my finger. I really hate having to move that box around. Honestly, it actually causes pain in my finger, because of all the extra work required just to draw a simple line. I do like the error checking though. Therefore, if you get rid of the box, or offer an option to shut it off, I will change my review to 5 stars.

Absolutely love this game for its intelligence and smooth user interface. Completed the free levels and have continued to play the weekly free puzzles (but they are never challenging enough unfortunately!). However, the extensive library of paid puzzles is WAY too overpriced. If the developers would lower the costs of these extra levels, more people would willingly buy them. Would be a win-win for everyone.

Buyer beware: you could end up spending thousands of dollars on Conceptis applications. Read on for details. This review includes the eight applications published on the iOS app store by Conceptis (Nurikabe, Tic-Tac-Logic, Link-a-Pix, Pic-a-Pix, Hashi, Sudoku, Slitherlink, and Fill-a-Pix). First off, their applications are well built and include many fun puzzles. I especially enjoy the weekly free puzzles, though it is a little irritating that they go away after four weeks and are not saved. However, the biggest problem—and I've noticed this mentioned in some reviews for these applications—is the high cost of puzzles. They are well done and fun, but when the costs are summed, they are rather high. There are 31,380 puzzles total (as of today) across the eight applications, ranging from very simple to rather complex, which would cost you a total of $3511 (not including tax). This is on par with the cost of licenses for professional-level applications. I think it's quite disingenuous of Conceptis to charge so much for the puzzles. When averaged (across all 8 applications for the entire range of puzzles), they total just over 15 cents/puzzle. That may not sound like much, but it can add up quickly. To contrast this, LogicPicColor, an iOS app like Pic-a-pix, has 16,778 total puzzles which cost a total of $30 (plus tax), averaging at a third of a cent per puzzle, about 50 times less than those from Conceptis. Now, LogicPicColor has some shortcomings and is not nearly as well done as the apps from Conceptis. Nonetheless, I don't believe Conceptis's apps and puzzles are worth that much of a premium, and will therefore be satisfied to look elsewhere. Perhaps someday they'll offer sales or discounts for puzzle bundles—ever since the apps were released, I've hoped for this, to no avail.

These puzzles are fun, but the price of the puzzles is outrageous. I also did not find the hard puzzles to not be much harder than the medium or medium hard puzzles. I would expect much larger and harder puzzles when paying $7.99 for 20 puzzles.
