Lines and Hexa

Lines & Hexa is a great game for two players usually (although up to four can play), and is a very good game for children because the rules are quite easy. It has gone by many other names, including the dots and boxes, game of dots, boxes, squares, dot to dot grid, and pigs in a pen.

The game plays really well for children, and yet can be played quite seriously, if you want to exercise the brain cells. At the simple level, the winner appears to be a matter of chance; at the analytic level, the winner will probably be the first one who can analyze the end game correctly.

All you do (on your turn) is to join two next-door dots on the grid, drawing a line and trying to complete a hexagon. Each time you make a hexagon, you must take another turn. If you fail to make a hexagon, the other (or next) player then takes his turn to draw a line.

---- HOW TO PLAY

Starting with an empty grid of dots, players take turns adding a single horizontal or diagonal line between two unjoined adjacent dots. The player who completes the sixth side of a Hexagon earns one point and takes another turn(regardless of which player had drawn the other segments of that hexagon). If you fail to make a hexagon, the other (or next) player then takes his turn to draw a line. The game ends when no more lines can be placed. The winner is the player with the most points.

---- ONLINE MULTIPLAYER

You can simply start a match with global random player. No log-in and no any other hassle required. Online multiplayer is also designed for all ages including children. Users are not allowed to edit their name and not able to upload profile pictures. So now worries about bad names or bad profile pictures.

Too many ads
CharHouse

This game has way too many Ads. Every time you play a game you have a 28 sec ad that leads to another one. I’m deleting this as it’s so annoying. No time for this crap.

Fun game
Minxrod

It's dots and boxes, but with hexagons. This makes the game far more interesting as you can use strategy to force your opponent to give you lots of points. Ads aren't too bad, the pop up after every few games and are skippable after a few seconds. Simple and fun game overall, and the multiplayer is a nice addition.

Great logic game

Great game, look forward to future updates to functionality. Please add more challenges as well as PVP.

Simple, Clean, Perfect.

They even give credit to there sources. A Lovely developed kind relaxing cognitive exercise.

Boring
Tuvian ninja

This game requires zero strategy. The AI places lines at random and seems to have no interest in winning.

Cheating game.

This game is terrible. On the challenge mode when the 4th green robot is introduced, the 3rd yellow robot throws their turn to setup the green robot. I’m on the final challenge and have yet to see the yellow robot score even one point while the green robot thrashes me. It’s like one robot with two turns. It’s a really cheap way to program a problem solving algorithm.

Agreed with reviewer DE Davenport.

The AI Yellow Feeds the game to Green. Can’t win when Yellow looks out for his Green Buddy! Fun otherwise.

Needs better multiplayer functionality

I like the concept of the game, but for people like me who don’t have good internet connection and want to play with local friends, it is a bummer. I really wish I can play with my friends multiplayer on just one device like a board game.

Very special game for you all??????????

Wasted potential

It should be such a simple game with an enjoyable campaign, but I have not found that to be the case. Bots keep throwing their turns to screw you over, making anything past level 12 impassable.
