Great bug fix update

ryanalvarado

2018: Useful update fixed crashing on launch bug. I can how recommend this app! The widget seems not to work however. —— 2017 Edit 3: still crashes on launch Was excited to see if the latest round of updates fixed the crash on launch for my iPhone, iPad. No luck. I invested quite a bit of time customizing my lighting, but alas the app hasn’t been able to open for months.

A flexible lighting tool

The Accomplice

The scene creator is a bit intimidating at first but becomes incredibly useful once mastered. Combined with a palette app, I can create the exact mood I want.

Exactly What I Wanted

Andrew M. K.

This app is everything I wanted it to be. I originally had an issue with a bug not allowing custom songs to be made and the developer responded with a fix in a few days. It takes some time to learn, but once you’ve practiced the custom preset maker is perfect for creating light shows that you can manually sync with music. I’ve used it to create a custom hockey San Jose Sharks goal song and I’ve recreated some scenes from Disneyland attractions with sound effects/lighting. I plan on doing so much more in the future. Suggestion: preset playlists. These could be implemented into the “collections” feature and allow users to stay on a certain preset for a specific amount of time and then move to the next one. I realize this is already somewhat possible.. but you cannot set specific times for certain songs (only a blanket time for all songs) and you cannot limit it to just one collection on repeat. Thanks for making this!

Great App & Great Dev

Arcyl the Red

Bought the app because I had bought a couple LIFX bulbs and wanted more options than what the LIFX app had to offer, and wouldn’t you know it the app couldn’t find my lights! Messaged the support email about it and in about a week there’s an update that completely fixed the issue! Apparently LIFX bulbs aren’t as easy to work with so I really appreciated how quickly the Dev fixed the issue. Once I was able to use the app I was definitely glad I picked it up because all the light scenes that you can get are really cool and unique and new ones are regularly coming out, and you can tell if you have the patience you can make some really cool scenes yourself. This will be the last app you’ll need for your smart light scene needs.

One of best Hue controllers

Triathleteguy

One of if not best hue controllers. Powerful yet simple.

Best LIFX animation app

Bbsig

This is a great (best in my opinion) app for LIFX light animations. They have put together a robust collection of tasteful light animations. You can create your own custom lightning animation with this app, however I don’t have the patience to create anything as nice as any of their creations. The animations are organized by collections where each collection has 5-10 different animations. They allow you to preview each collection for a couple minutes and there are a lot of them. I submitted a support ticket because LIFX bulbs wouldn’t stay in a group when relaunching the app. I have 20 LIFX bulbs around the house, so grouping them is a must for me. Their support team eventually reached out to me several weeks with a solution and an update ready to go. They even gave me a detailed explanation of the root cause and the resolution. The update worked and my bulbs stay grouped. I am now a subscriber. Considering how much I already spent on 20 Lifx bulbs, I find this app helps me get more value out of these things. Suggestions. It would amazing if we could trigger a preset via IFTTT or something. It would be great to trigger crazy flashing lights if a door is opened while the alarm is set. Or activate a preset on a schedule. Etc. —————————————- Previous review: This app has some challenges, but has the best lighting animations I have found from an app. I have 14 Lifx lights across my home. The app supports grouping lights together to control a group of lights separately. However after relaunching the app, the light groups forget what lights are assigned every time. I submitted a support ticket on 16Feb2018, but no response from support as of 03Mar2018. I would subscribe if they could fix the issue. I have the same problem with a similar app, so it must be a challenge with Lifx bulbs.

Issues with Lights, UI, Support and Price

mrcs

First issue is lights. I turn off certain lights because I don't want the presets using them. The app turns them back on! It's like it looks at the bridge and says "That is the state of the light I'll use, instead of issuing them commands" If in the app I turn OFF a given light, even if someone turns ON that light via Alexa or Hue, the APP should IGNORE it, not go and use it. Ugh! Second, buying presets is terrible, because after you do there is NO interface for "Here is what you have purchased!" You literally have to go through each and EVERY preset button just to see what you have bought. If you buy say 2 or 3 but can't remember which ones you have to click them all tomfind what you bought! Third, some presets don't even work all the time. Fireworks works sometimes, othertimes it doesn't! I contacted support 4 weeks ago twice, no reply back. Finally, each pack is 5 bucks. If you want all the presets, it's flipp'in expensive! I DO like the sounds + lights but this whole app setup is just plain terrible.
