Life Goals

Life Goals was rated 9/10 by Anna Papachristos in her analysis at iPhone App Review (http://bit.ly/N5Iyp0).

In Anna's words: "What is great about Life Goals, as opposed to other goal management applications, is the way it provides its users with a pre-designed set up featuring different categories. Many similar apps make it easy for users to enter their goals and set due dates, but Life Goals helps you break things down into categories that some may even overlook as being an area of their life they could improve upon."

Erica Sadun (author of the iPhone Cookbook) also recently reviewed Life Goals and Life Audit on The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW).

Erica described the App as follows: "An enhanced to-do app, Life Goals reorganizes a standard reminders approach around focused categories. As you add and accomplish tasks, your Life Chart updates to show you which areas you're excelling in, and which you're neglecting, through an expanded system of graphs and statistics."

Erica goes on to say: "A lot of thought has gone into its design, to help users prioritize and review task management. If you like visual and statistical goal feedback, this app has it in bunches."

The worst app.

If you want your life in a better route, this app is not the way.

Waste of money
Hmmph

This app is just a very weak to-do list with a couple of charts thrown in. Since I've already wasted my money on it I'm hoping for some major updates. To start, it would be good to be able to customize the areas you want to work in your life without having to use their categories. Next, what's the point of talking about resolutions if you can't set recurring tasks? To reach a goal, aren't there actions you have to do repeatedly? Next, there need to be some changes in the user interface to make it a little more efficent to use and some customizable icons This is a to-do list. And it's not a very good one.

Fantastic Tool

I've been trying to achieve various goals for many years. To mention a few, I've been trying to save for a trip, pay down debts, lose weight, write my novel and many other large projects. For years, I have written them down and tried my best to break them down into manageable chunks, but I often lost the piece of paper I wrote it on or forgot to consult it to see what I should do next. With this app, I don't have to worry about losing track anymore. I spent a couple of hours entering my goals and breaking them down into manageable chunks. Then, with one button, I can see where I should focus my efforts now to achieve ALL my goals, no matter if these steps concern my financial goals, writing goals or any other goal.

Excellent Organizational App.

I'll be the first to admit that I have not achieved some goals in my life. After downloading this app, I am going to make an active effort to achieve as many of my goals as possible. This app is very easy to use, colorful, and organized by categories. I also like the visual charts that will help me keep track of my progress. Try it out!!

Half the battle
kyoku1

It would seem that defining and tracking goals, tasks, and progress is half the battle of achieving anything of significance. This app helps do that right off the bat simply by how it separates the types of goals and defines tasks. You have to think about what it is you want and how you might get there. No app is going to make you do anything, right? But this is a real motivator for me. Also separating out various categories can really put tasks and goals into perspective. Many times I have had to-do lists that had menial tasks mixed in with major projects. That really didn't go too well! Well, I am hopeful that this app will help get me going in the right direction.

Awesome Goal Setting & Tracking Tool!

The Life Goals app is really cool, and it works really well for people like me who need to stay on track with all the moving pieces of their life. You can select from categories like Artistic, Career, Attitude, Education, Relationship, Health, Financial and more! And within each category, you then add tasks with due dates (if you choose). You can also add to and delete categories. You can then view your chart and chart stats to see how your goals are progressing (or not). Nice!

Need Some Improvements

I give this app 3 stars for effort and some promise. It has lots of features but lots of them are not customizable as I would need them to be. I was looking for something that could replace my other app but it doesn’t seem like this one is ready yet.

Strong app with 2 suggestions
AnnZiv

This app does exactly what I need it to do and I'm pleased. Two suggestions: the date roller for setting a deadline for a task is very buggy. I have to press too hard to make it roll. However, the app is easy to use without that feature. Second, it would be smoother if you didn't need to drill down and up from categories to goals to tasks. I'm using this in conjunction with Habit Factor and that app is more streamlined. Along that line, my wish is that the category list interface have graphics that are different from the sliding rulers, which seem clunky. Maybe a bar where a color fills in as the goal progresses?

Was nervous

Post 2.0 update: devs, crashing happens everytime i try to delete a task! Everyone: I was nervous to purchase this app. It looked like what I wanted but had a low rating despite pretty stellar reviews. I tried the lite versions of other goal apps and none clicked with me. Finally said "what the hell" and got this. I felt immediately satisfaction and relief and joy. The guy that made this really thought out the aspects. It's not gimmicky. It's not one-dimensional. And not a regurgitation with a twist. This is a unique product that, I think, was honestly made to help. I appreciate the tips section under the "help" tab. Even if you know how to go about goal making, the tips section serves as an excellent reminder, even a daily meditation. Thank you.

Poor design and full of bugs
Ernesto Fuentes

The app is very poorly designed. Entering new goals was a tedious task due to the fact that every other time my goals would not save and I would have to reenter them all over again. Completely overpriced for what you get.
