The sound works but picture doesn't. Guess this app only caters to the newest phones.
The app is terribly slow, the files are enormous and you can't download in the background. If you try, it will just randomly close the app and you'll have to restart the download again. The effects are interesting, but not nearly worth the 30 min wait to get it working.
I have seen a lot of VR apps, and this is the best I have ever seen for cardboard.
The technology already exists on YouTube, why make us download the app then download half a gig for one file just to watch it a couple times. Put it up on YouTube, get the buzz and be happy. You are making it to difficult to enjoy the video.
Yea it works but there's a catch. It is 0% immersive and the audio is no good at all. In the jäger pilot video, you hear your co pilot on your right, turn 180 degrees and you still hear him on your right. From Legendary, I expected more
I've never seen a 500MB 30 second video look so crappy
I'm a VR developer so I've had a decent amount of time wearing HMDs and I did not enjoy the interface they presented. It was too basic, I'm used to other player apps where I have more control. Also when it comes to setting up for your HMD, I have an expensive Homido unit and there wasn't a way to manually enter anything about my setup, just a scan the QR Code thing, which doesn't seem to exist for mine. What I would love more is to take their content and play it in another app, maybe the one I made.
Takes 30min to download the near 500mb file. The app must be open at all times. If closed half way through download you lose all progress. If you make it through all that then it's very cool. Personally I'll just watch someone's YouTube video on it.
My kids loved this. My son, while riding on a virtual griffin, kept yelling (because he was wearing headphones) “This is Awesome!…. This is so awesome!!” It was quite funny to watch him enjoy it.
