This app is very user friendly. It provides a simple and concise way to review nomenclature you learned in class. What a great study tool to practice naming those organic compounds before your exam!!
This made nomenclature sooooo much easier to understand for my class. I love Chemistry, but OChem is still difficult. Once I got the nomenclature down, I was able to understand other material. Seriously, Considering the tuition to re-take this class is astronomically more than this app, what have you got to lose?
This a great app and user friendly. I would like if it added more towards the main functional groups such as esters, aldehydes, ketones carboxylic acids and etc. Very helpful.
I found a few mistakes and it confused me to no end!! It would be good if it would tell you why you got the quiz question wrong, when you do. Sometimes it contradicts what it says.
This developer does do much to make learning organic chemistry easy - nomenclature is so much easier to understand with this app.
To prepare for the PCAT, I'm attempting to learn the essentials of Organic Chemistry before taking the class. The Nomenclature apps were hands down, 5 stars, the best apps I've ever purchased. It's the best $3.98 ($1.99 x 2 apps) I've ever spent. I love how it taught the material in easy to understand language, then quizzed me to reinforce it. The app on reactions, also great, didn't teach the material. Seemingly, it should be used as a tool to enforce concepts previously learned in class. Thus, it didn't help me understand the reactions. I humbly request an app on reactions that brakes down the concepts as so masterfully done with the nomenclature app.
This would be a five star application if the questions for the quizzes were pulled from a database of question in random order. The quizzes are great.... The first time you take one. The questions do not change giving you an extremely limited amount of compounds you may be expected to name. To be successful with nomenclature it takes repetition and variety of compounds.
Was a great app until the iOS updates. Now it crashes whenever I open it. I was so pleased to have such a good tool to study organic chemistry on my phone, and I hope the developer will update it to work with the current iOS soon.
