Good for basics...

'4' is actually both shi AND yon, so they are not incorrect there. Most words have 'on' and 'kun' readings- one derived from Chinese and the other from native Japanese. You won't learn much Japanese from this, but will get a structured exposure. For free, that's good.

@DiesalLA you are incorrect, four is yon and shi. Has nice Vocab, some sort of self study & quizzes. Ijust have a bit of an issue on the disorganized order of the flashcards. A bit useful, uses some kanji too. It was free, so I am not making arguments as much against it. If you are considering to download, I say go for it. You can always delete if you dislike it.

It's a nice app. I noticed how the Japanese characters for numbers are the same but a few of the Japanese words, (they're called pinyin when it's Chinese) are different.

This app doesn't really help unless you want to just look at flash cards of words that you wouldn't use in everyday language. Unless you only want to talk about the weather or numbers (it's missing a couple numbers and a season...)

I just wish it was a native Japanese speaker. It would have made the lesson a lot more authentic.

Maybe Im missing something but I would like it a lot more if I could get the search feature to say the word in Japanese rather than English. It gives you a choice of Japanese or english for the flashcards, why not for the search? Oh well, can't complain when it's free
