A simple app - a powerful tool. Now you can find which hospitals keep patients the safest, all in the palm of your hand.
An important step toward increasing transparency in our health care system.
It's wonderful that somebody finally made a tool like this available. Finding a safe hospital for your stay or procedure is so important these days, and having clearly comprehensible informaition based on well designed research is a must. Thank you!!!
Lack of transparency in the US health system is a big deal. This app is a significant step in the right direction. We need more hospitals rated, but that's not the fault of the people behind this app.
This new app is a precedent-breaking rip in the curtain of secrecy and opacity that has long prevented the average American from being able to substantively compare what our hospitals do, not just what they advertise. Everyone should download and use this tool, if for no other reason than to begin the process of taking more personal responsibility for choosing hospitals and doctors based on the best clinical outcomes, not who claims to have won the most awards. There will be angry criticism from some quarters that Leapfrog's statistical analysis either emphasizes some areas too much or too little, and any statistical comparison can be improved with time. But those institutions who react to a less than stellar score by attacking the app or the provider are missing the point: American healthcare will never be a safe system until every American has a reliable way of knowing who is really providing the best care and the smallest number of unnecessary injuries and deaths, and who is merely buying billboard ads proclaiming their quality. We have thousands of great hospitals, but everyone can improve, and that begins by a willingness to face less than stellar reviews and comparisons with humility and rededication to patient safety and quality outcomes. Simple to use app with credible information and grading of hospitals that my family can use wherever they are in the U.S. I generally trust my "A" rated hospital, but I am very glad it has been independently verified by experts. Thank you.
Great app! Anyone looking for healthcare nationwide should have this app. Exactly what the consumer needs.
Immensely useful and a great stride toward increasing transparency in healthcare.
I found this very easy to use, it certainly would make me ask questions if the facility I use was not an A! It's about time!
Finally we have an app that can help us choose a safe hospital. It has been a long time coming!
