It’s odd that I was thinking that we had not had a game from Mariaglorum in ages and after 10 days with no new game, this was distributed. I generally love this series, but I had a few quibbles with this game, albeit nothing major. You could customize settings. You were able to pick a voice for your protagonist’s gender. Although there was no cohesive journal, objectives were regularly updated. The graphics were muted, and not very crisp. The cut-scenes had a lot of pixelation. However, I have seen that issue with other developers, such as Domini, and I didn’t allow it to ruin my gaming experience. This developer provides a back button (unlike ERS/AMAX) so you can’t accidentally back tap to a prior location. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. Utilization of inventory was extremely easy because this developer lets you click on the tool and then the area in which you need to use it; there was no need to drag it! You also had the option of utilizing your adorable baby scarecrow to help you reach inaccessible items. A marked teleport map was included to transport you instantaneously between locations, and indicated if a collectible was present. The collectibles included an owl emblem at each location and several statuettes. There weren’t all that many locations but there was a plethora of tasks at each. The HO scenes had variation, but there was no alternative puzzle offered. There were many puzzles/games. Many were rotational, but there were also codes, labyrinths, and magical books to solve to learn more of the storyline. The storyline was one we have seen time and again, certainly not anything original. However, I found this game amusing and enjoyable to play. Gameplay was extremely smooth and glitch-free. The only issue I noted was that the map was on occasion a bit “touch-sensitive.” Other reviewers complained about length. Compared to the other games in this series this was markedly shorter; however this game was still a lot longer than the game we got 10 days ago from Elephant (Wise Dragon). My review will stand at 4 stars. I deducted a star for length and also because I felt that many of the puzzles/games were somewhat simplistic. I still enjoyed this game and would really like to receive more games from Mariaglorum. BigFish, we need games from other developers, not just AMAX, EIPIX, Elephant and Mad Head. Can you look at other developers and get more from Domini, BOOLAT, Boom Zap, Four Friends, Friendly Cactus and Crazy Grandma? You need a bigger pool of developers! We need more games! Happy gaming to all! UPDATE: Great, just fabulous! This game is on sale until Wednesday, which probably means we won’t get a new game until next Thursday, an entire week with only one new game! Seriously, BigFish, are you going to start giving us only one game per week again? People will be extremely dissatisfied if you do so! Reviewers, I strongly suggest that you start complaining. I can’t fight alone! Note to K-Rano: I believe that your remark stating that you won’t write a novella was directed towards me as well as KimTwilight. It was snide and unnecessary. At least I write a complete review explaining the major game features, which is extremely helpful for other gamers, especially those new to this genre and method of gameplay. I’m quite sure that KimTwilight shares my viewpoint as well, since she puts a tremendous amount of thought and effort into her reviews. Kindly keep your snide remarks to yourself!
