Could do a lot better

Main points: 1. Level design is lacking 2. You need currency to progress 3. Too many ads The game is a fairly decent game in concept; deflect a laser to get power to all the batteries. But it is clear that the level designers started to run out of ideas. A new gimmick is introduced often, which helps keep the levels somewhat interesting, but after the introductory levels with each gimmick it is rarely used in a interesting way after. Take for example the “tunnel” piece. It is designed to block the path of lasers on one axis but allow lasers on the other to pass through. After it is introduced, it is only seen used again in very obvious situations. Often there isn’t even two different lasers capable of passing through it. This causes it to just be another arbitrary piece to tap with out thought in order to finish the level. This method leads levels based around one or two important pieces and a bunch of brainless filler to work through. The level design would be okay though if you could just sit down and breeze through the levels to kill time, but you can’t. The game is designed to challenge players to go beyond and collect the three stars in each level, which gets you coins to be used to buy new backgrounds and laser colors. The flaw with this though is that the coins are also required to unlock the next level pack. Early on this is okay; you easily can earn enough coins to move on. But once you go far enough in, your hit with the fact that you can’t earn enough coins naturally to move on. But don’t worry! The app has a daily reward system; you can open the app and spin the wheel for around 100 coins on average. Oh you’re still short? Well luckily, you can watch an ad instead! My last point is that this is one of those apps that bombards you with ads. I finished a level once and it offered me a chance to spin the daily wheel again if I watched an ad, I declined, but then after I clicked continue I was met with an ad anyway. If the app offered rewards for watching ads but it didn’t force you to watch them, and by force I mean either by actually bringing up an mandatory ad after finishing a level or indirectly requiring you watch them by making you need the ad’s reward, then the ads would be okay. It is not like this though. This leads to a frustrating experience with an ad for practically every two minutes of gameplay, almost requiring airplane mode. But not even airplane mode will save you, because the app indirectly requires you to watch ads to even unlock new levels. In the end, it’s clear that the base of the app might have been a decent idea and could have had potential, but everything else about the app squanders it.

Ads...

Listen, I get the whole ads logic. But this is ridiculous. Every round I finish is another ad. You can’t let me do at least 2-3 stages before getting an ad? You really have to make me sit through an ad after every stage?? The game is fun. But the ads killed it for me. I’m uninstalling now.

My Thoughts

So far I’m really enjoying this game!! It’s such a fun and challenging way to pass the time!!

So. Many. Ads.

Daily levels?

plover time

Pretty fun, but it could stand to have more levels. Something like a level every day or even a “random level” option would really make the game more of a keeper for some people. An extra star was removed due to the fact that a recent update promised more levels and gave none.

Fun game but need more levels

Jcray2000

Very fun game. I paid to have the ads removed, couldn’t keep turning the volume off to play in public cause of the ads. Finished all the levels little to fast need more.

Great game but...

DEIZELTOUCHDOWN

It’s a fun game don’t get me wrong but you need to fix beginner 2 level 6 looks too much like a swastika

Great game mechanics, but crappy coin system

jsauras

The levels in this game are well crafted and has a reasonable difficulty slope. The UI is very aesthetic: simple and polished. I like the warping and the joint-nodes; they add an interesting element to the game. My only complaint is that the coins are only useful for unlocking levels, and even that isn’t necessary since you can unlock levels via ad views. The coins could have been used to access bonus levels.

not bad but....

The concept is great and I like the fact that there is help if you are having difficulty with a level. I don’t mind watching ads and getting extra coins but why am I watching an ad for the game I am playing? My other complaint is that the game jumps to the conclusion that I have completed the puzzle when I haven’t finished. if the puzzles have to be done a certain way then it should state that. Because several times I stopped to check and make sure the route was right and the game ended and told me I failed to get it right.

Advertising
