Kosmonaut is Multitap Delay with a twist. In addition to adding echoes to your audio, it packs a bunch of extra tools to put your music in space:
- Tape looper with with variable sound-on-sound decay level
- 4-Tap Delay (placed in series for complex feedback loops)
- LP/HP filters with LFO
- Autopanner
- Ambiance Generator
- Haas Effect Processor (aka 'wavefront precedence effect')
All features are demonstrated extensively in a ton of factory presets, and you can easily add your own user presets, which will automatically carry over across different host apps.
All variables are exposed as AU Parameters in hosts which support automation.
It also has a smart Random-feature, which may come up with usable results :-)
Check out ruismaker.com for the user manual and audio demos.
Not just on iOS, this kicks the crap out of VST delays, hardware delays, etc... it’s just about perfect... Drive the input stage for saturation, amazing control of head position and behavior, haas effect?!?! Srsly?!? Amazeballs!!! I’d rather buy this app an an iPad to run it on than spend $300 on a high end delay pedal... and I have literally thousands of dollars in delay pedals and rack effect.
The AU MIDI apps Bram Bos has put out for iOS are some of the most popular & useful apps available for iOS musicians. This new delay is in that exact same mold, the sound quality is incredible and the amount of control over delay timing and tone is insane. At this price it’s a must buy tool every iOS producer needs in their toolkit. Highly recommended.
This is my first app from this dev., and I am so impressed with this buttery smooth effect! You can put it on literally anything, and you can make it sound amazing in many different ways.
Haas proximity effect, a reverb, a looper, filter and 4x delay. Quite a nice value and low cpu load
Just wanted to say thanks, and that on a 3rd gen IPad Pro, you are one of, or possibly the only developer that is good enough that all of your apps are FULLY functional, I’ve wasted like 200 bucks on apps that half/don’t work at all on new devices/ios12. You give me hope that I didn’t waste 1400 bucks on an IPad that I mainly got for mobile audio production. Moog pooped the bed, sugarbytes pooped the bed, and so did most others, there are few apps that are fully functional and don’t have audiobus zombie background use and 70% cpu usage. I seriously have to hard reset brand new IPad after attempting to use 30 dollar apps. Thanks again keep it up, cuz you totally win at this point in the app game. You made higher paid devs look completely incompetent.
Beam Bos is a master of creating incredibly useful, simple, and deep applications. Kosmonaut is a great example. The layout reads from left to right, with gain, first, followed by the looper system, below. The looper’s length control does not reflect its full range, which is currently only accessible via midi. There are four independent delays, each offering either tempo sync or millisecond time settings, level, pan, and feedback. The output section sports an auto-planner, a beautiful reverb, and a Haas processor. This elegant, simple, sophisticated delay system has become an integral part of my performance system. I use multiple instances, and they work beautifully.
