Komoot gave me the confidence to go further and try new routes I’d not trusted myself to do previously. The ability to see the type of route (path, cycleway, road, etc) is super handy and makes it easy to know where to adjust routes to get the type of ride you want.

So disappointed in this app. Navigation is off enough to be dangerous on city streets, requiring dangerous and unnecessary u turns and unpredictable changes in direction. Just tried to ride a tour I’d spent half an hour cleaning of duplicate ways points, u turns and other garbage only to have Komoot re route me and drop more than half the tour 15 miles into a 60 mile ride after routing me down a high traffic A road. Just totally ruined my ride/day.
Great for planning bike rides

This is the best app I’ve used for planning rides. It’s really easy to great one way or out and back rides, see what surfaces are available, look for good climbs, and estimate the time and elevation gain for a ride. It also syncs with my Garmin computer for navigation while riding. it also uses Open Street Map, which I think is a lot better than some other mapping surfaces and can be edited by users to fix mistakes on roads you know well. Can’t recommend highly enough!

I wasn’t sure how I was going to plan routes for my new bike. Komoot made it so simple and paired with my bike computer perfectly.
Don’t try to use to plan a route

The maps are quite good, but the route planning capability is worthless. If you know which roads you want to follow, the app will almost always refuse to go that way and reroute another way. Several times I have tried to use it to plan a bike route and became frustrated and quite.
