Fast dots

Nice app that let's kids practice math. Emulates a Japanese soroban and provides randomly generated number problems.

Finally!!

I've been waiting for an abacus app that generates random problems to solve for both addition and subtraction. The other apps that generate problems only generate strings of numbers and I don't like that as much. This app isn't quite as polished as some of the other abacus apps but it's responsive and works well. Plus its free!

Works great!

Our kids enjoy practicing on this. No more worries about loosing the abacus beads. A must have....

Suggestion

This app is a great tool but if you are a blind or visually impaired user it reads everything but it won't let you set and clear thr numbers with VoiceOver on so you have to turn speech on as thr numbers at the bottom of the screen are small then you have to turn speach off to do the problem. Which makes it a bit time taking.

Lots of problems

As others have stated, paid version still has ads. The UI is not that smooth either. Gestures to rapidly move top and lower beads were unresponsive. Even slowing down many gestures were not recognized. The addition quizzes work well but the algorithm for subtraction has a bug. Obviously, calculating 2-6 or 3-4 is not possible on the soroban. Since the developer seems to have no interest in updating this app, it is probably best to avoid it. I will obviously change my opinion if the developer becomes active in making changes. ---------- Update 7-9-12 The latest update did not solve any of the major problems this app has. At present the app is completely broken and useless, which is unfortunate because it was one of my favorite apps.
