“This is a remarkable addition to the app store that will separate itself from the crowded offerings of the same old same old with its own style and polish. Taking a seat next to Zen Bound, Kometen utilizes the unique aspects of the device perfectly and will be that app you want to share (show off perhaps?) with friends.” — No dpad

Simple, beautiful, and fun, Kometen is as much a game as it is interactive art. Elegantly crafted graphics and tasteful selection of music make this app a delicacy for the eyes and the ears. Expect to be enraptured, if not entertained.
but I'm not sure what it is is a game. Everything about the game is beautiful. It really is a work of art. Traveling the galaxy is almost hypnotic. That said, you can't win, you can't lose, and the whole point of Kometen is to view the art, so that should be considered by anyone looking for a game in the traditional sense. Kometen is an art-house experience in a similar vein to Passage, where traditional gaming has been eschewed in favor of offering an experience. I like it. I hope other indie developers follow suit and push the envelope of what it is to be a videogame.
But their is a way to make it better. I assumed that the comet would be more interactive; like it would be forthcoming with it's inner thoughts and provoking curiosity. Maybe it would have a thought bubble that pops up and you could somehow respond to it.. It sometimes repeats itself too, so it isn't super varied and keeping me guessing. It should make me curious about what it's thinking from moment to moment... Great art and music though- I wouldn't dream of giving it less then 5 stars, and it feels like a dream when I play it too.
This is an experience! I'm chillin and playing this a little after 4pm on a rainy day; very cool. thanks guys, big up!
Rally stunning graphics, it is quite a piece of art. But it really isn't that fun, or engaging. It's a little bit pricey for what it is too. If there'd were some goals other than just getting to different places to look for stance looking circles, it could be more fun.
Not super thrilling but filled with an artistic experience from start to finish.
Most dissappointing purchase bought on the app so far. I was looking for a relaxing game to play before bed but with no instruction and no purpose or direction, i am left dollarless and dreamless. Dont waste your money or your time.
Like others have said, this isn't really a "game" in the classic sense of the word. It's more of an artistic experience, an opportunity to explore the world within your mind as you lose yourself in the universe of Kometen. There's no high score, no rpg elements, no complex controls. Simply put, you'll get out of this what you put into it, and those that are more open minded and creative will get a lot.
