KMZ Loader is designed to open KMZ files, which are compressed KML (Keyhole Markup Language) files. Google Earth can open KML files on its own, however KMZ's will not load properly without being decompressed first.

KMZ Loader can decompress a KMZ file into a KML file allowing it to be viewed both in Google Earth and as source code.

Any KMZ files imported into KMZ Loader will be stored in My KMZs and can be deleted by simply swiping over it.

I’m rating this app a four star because I wondering if it is possible to load in 3d structures for instance The original World Trade Center in NYC. When I try to load one of the models in google earth ether crashes or building doesn’t load in properly...

I run custom maps ~300kb with thousands of points. I've never been able to load them before now when I'm on the road. This ap will save me from hauling a laptop cross country.

I would buy this app if it were for sale. I use it several time a day in the field. I would, however, like to see a folders option to organize kmz files for separate jobs. Bravo! Great job!

Does exactly as it says. I emailed myself my "my places" folder in Google earth on my computer and opened it in KMZ Loader and then opened it in google earth on my ipod. THANK YOU!!!

Prior to KMZ Loader, I was either saving my KMZ flights using Google maps or converting them into KML format inside my desktop GE and emailing them. The Google Map route removed the altitude information from my flights, while the email route resulted in the flights only sometimes displaying in mobile GE. Thanks to KMZ Loader, that's all in the past. I now save individual flights to Dropbox using my desktop GE. Then, on my iPhone or iPad I open up Dropbox, select the flight I want to see, use the action arrow icon to select KMZ Loader to open the flight, tell KMZ Loader to open the KMZ in mobile GE, and voila - the flight appears in three dimensions. Wonderful! The only remaining annoyances (which are of course not KMZ Loader's fault at all) are (1) you have to close mobile GE to remove the flight trace, and (2) you cannot swich on or off individual items in the KMZ file under mobile GE like you can on the desktop GE. Come on, Google, give us a better implementation of the desktop GE on our mobile devices! Until Google improves mobile GE, though, KMZ Loader is an absolute must!
