WEIGHT TO VOLUME CONVERSIONS

What is so special about weight to volume conversions?

When converting from weight to volume it is important to take into account the ingredient you are converting. As you know, a cup of sugar does not weigh the same as a cup of rice. Furthermore, a particular brand of sugar may weigh different from another. This is all made easy with Kitchen Calculator PRO.

So, how does Kitchen Calculator handle weight to volume conversions?

1.It comes with a database of common ingredients based on weight figures from the USDA (US Department of Agriculture).

2.It allows you to quickly enter and save your own ingredient weight for more precise conversions. In many cases, you can enter the values right off the product label, using fractions!

3.Kitchen Calculator will remember any saved ingredient information for future conversions.

NOTE: The preset ingredient list is based on USDA (US Department of Agriculture) figures and are approximate values. They may differ from the ingredients you use. For precise calculations we recommend entering the weights for your ingredients and, whenever possible using a scale.

Don't Bother

I just wasted my money and my time on this piece of junk. Do not believe the reviews here. At first glance, it looks as though you should be able to simply create a recipe by name, enter servings and then make adjustments. (Let's say from 4 servings to 100.) Should be simple… Right? Wrong! I found one button (buried in there somewhere) that allowed me to begin naming a recipe but after adding 1 ingredient... I was then taken back to the main menu and couldn't find what I just created. No folder, nothing. Really? Logically, the app should've asked me what the next ingredient was. But it didn't. Building upon a simple sequence of ingredients was ridiculously complicated it seemed. Hello... Just create a simple recipe button and allow the user to keep going forward until the recipe is finished. Frustrating and annoying app. Don't bother.

A really useful app

The only improvement I would suggest is to provide the means to repeat a given conversion with different materials. When converting recipe ingredients I have to go back to the beginning and re-specify the same conversion (e.g. cups to grams) over and over again for each ingredient. Other than that, I think it's a great app.

Excellent

Not good for conversions. Unable to determine exactly how to use app. No detailed instructions provided. No time to play around trying to figure out how app works. Waste of $3 in my opinion.

Bakers Dream App!
Beachcomber2

So quick & Easy! I always see large recipes for more than 2 servings, I normally only want 2. Found an awesome yeast bread recipe that made 3 loaves (using a whopping 8 cups flour) now I will bake it for 2 loaves. Love this tool on my iPad that I keep in the kitchen. Worth every penny for the app. This will save me SO much time-I bake a lot! JB

I give it 4.5
Teachmusictokids

I use this frequently to convert European recipes. Very easy to use and fairly comprehensive. I'll give it 5 stars when they add ground meat and also ground coffee!
