I would not buy the $7 full version based on this. The tutorial is terrible: it gives you two turns and doesn't explain the rules (it just tells you what to do, not why). Some UI elements like your cards are sideways no matter how you hold the iPad. The grammar is bad to boot. The best part is the app name under the icon: "AppStore copy" I would advise against playing "appStore copy" or Kingdom Builder, it is a crummy app.

Clunky
Got bored

I think there might be a great board game hiding under this terrible interface. I know the board game has won awards, but this implementation doesn't explain why I can only play my settlements on certain tiles. This isn't how you impress people to buy the full game or even the board game.

Review of AppStore copy
fiddly_bits

It's hard to believe that this game is still called "AppStore copy" after two months. The game is usable, at least if you already know how to play, but it's not up to standard for the price.

Fine (but rough) FREE app
Pofigster

The other reviewers are either running a different app or didn't try very hard to explore it. There are two modes, a tutorial and a full game. The tutorial is three turns and explains why you can only play settlements on certain tiles (assigned terrain type and adjacency). The first two explain general game play and the third is scoring. The 'full' game is against one AI with a limited subset of buildings and terrains that you play the whole game of. Full disclaimer, I have never played the physical game and I do not own the $7 app.

Needs undo feature
Copperdrake

I love Kingdom Builder as a board game. I tried out this app, and it he interface is nice, I like all the art integration, the AI options, and the multiplayer. However, the things it's REALLY missing is an undo button. If you accidentally click the wrong space or token during your turn, there's no way to back up. Also, if you make a move and reconsider it before your turn is over, there's no way to change what you've done. This makes the app very irritating to use. I won't be buying the paid version unless this feature is implemented.

Show the current score. Add UNDO.
thespaciousmind

Almost convinved to buy this but cripes... i cannot UNDO and cannot see current score??? And no zoom of the board??? I'll stick with the real deal. This version stinks.

Nice game, lousy app.
Isgard

The tutorial is pretty terrible, and there's no rule book to look something up if you missed it during the tutorial. Wondering what a tile does before you acquire it? Tough, there's no way to tell. Even after you've acquired it you're stuck interpretting the iconography, and if you interpret it incorrectly, there's no undo button. This might be fine for experienced Kingdom Builder players, but if you're new to the game, prepare to be frustrated.

Can't undo
customer01010101

Echoing the numerous other reviews... Great game, but maddening that I can't undo plays before the end of my turn. Add this feature and I'll buy the paid version. Until then, I will not.

Buggy!
bandel65

Whenever you start your final turn with less than 3 pieces to place ( but before you've started placing them), it does not let you use token actions!
