The cards have nice art and do a good job of teaching you the basics.

I like this app, I really do but I feel like it's lacking a great deal. First off, give more opportunities for coins because it's 1999 (2000) coins for the full lesson pack and you only get 20 or 10 for doing two lessons. For someone who can't do in app purchases (like me for example) that's going to be a lot of grinding to just get enough coins to get that. You can only do three lessons a day meaning if you do all three lessons for the day, you have to wait 24 hours to do another three lessons. So a reduced time to do lessons or adding in more lessons for the day would be better. Some more games for the arcade would be cool too. The Fox mini game is confusing and the tries are a bit wonky. Sometimes it takes three incorrect answers to lose a try then it's one try for each incorrect answers. The memory game is bugged and I can't get past level six. The timer will go down but I can't flip over any cards. This app has a lot of potential but it's lacking that potential. EDIT: I was actually wrong about the 24 hours for a lesson deal. After 24 hours I did the next three lessons and it said I had to wait a full day for the next one. A full day passed and I did the three lessons now it wants me to wait two days. So the more lessons you do the longer you have to wait for the next one. Also during the lessons there are moments where it wants you to write the word. Sometimes it wants you to actually write it and other times it wants you to type the word. This is also bugged because sometimes when you're typing a letter won't change so you get it wrong. I was trying to type one of the words and I got it wrong because the letter "n" wouldn't change to finish the word. Also if you get a word wrong on the actual writing the text turns Dutch. EDIT: Memory game is bugged out the timer goes down a lot faster to where you can't even get past the first level and some of the card matches don't even appear.

This app is amazing! It has amazing illustrations, story, and characters to teach you. The cards that you are given within the game is set up so you can easily see hiragana, romanji, katakana, kanji, vocabulary and a picture to help you remember what's the card. It gives you games at the "arcade", you can go to a shrine to view your progress and look at what you have learned so far. They even give you mini test within the games that you can click and speak with strokes to see how to write them all. Including they say the word while having the card face away from you so you can learn how to remember the sound of the hiragana/katakana/ kanji you are learning. Inside the app has in store purchase where you can buy all of the lessons right away (from what I've seen so far you will get the lessons all together but it makes you wait a few (24) hours to get brand new lessons). You don't have to buy them to gain the lessons from what I've seen (I didn't wait that long to see how much will it give me) but you can watch videos to gain 10 coins (money>coins>buy a lesson or a theme). I stood their watching short videos to buy a theme (it's a cat theme that I love) but I eventually put in money to buy all the lessons. •hiragana •katakana •kanji •vocabulary •grammar. 5 lessons if you buy(or watch 50+ videos) to get all of these. It's worth it, especially for me because I have trouble remembering things so the cards really help me. Also to buy all 5 lessons it gives you a discount and in real life money to buy it, it's only $2.99. Three dollars gets you hiragana,katakana, kanji, vocabulary, and grammar. This is all N5 Japanese so this is what you learn first and move on from there. I love this app so much so far especially with the voices when it speaks to you, the learning strokes, games and even the characters. The characters also give you some back story saying that you are special and have a special ability to see things most humans can not. It's lovely. I recommend it and I can't wait to learn more <3 (sorry for grammar and spelling).

Omigosh, I love it! I don't mind having to buy coins, they're so cheap for how much education you get out of buying them! I didn't even spend as much as $10. It's a very good app! 10/10 recommend. ありがとう，かわいい日本語!!

This app is great and I've been using it for a while now. It seems like your just playing a game but your learning and the games in the arcade are great too! You learn hiragana, katakana, kanji, and grammar. They even put pictures to help you remember. Although there are a few bugs such as when you tap on a door that you haven't unlocked yet you get stuck and have to back out of the app and... actually that's the only one I've noticed but they said they're fixing some other bugs too... anyways I totally recommend this app! Edit: thanks for responding to this and thanks for telling me that I'll update it!? again thanks it's a great app!

This app is amazing! I've been using it for a couple of days and I've learned a lot with it! All though, i think there should be more games in the arcade to test us and a class that teaches you some usual Japanese words you might here, for example; greetings, how to ask basic things, Etc. that would be really amazing because, it could help you to at least know some really common word. Besides that, this app is the best.
