Must have app for knitting on the go!

Flex-n-knit

I don't write many reviews as not too many programs inspire it but this is one of my Must haves on my iPhone. I quite literally will not start a knitting pattern without first imputing it into JKnit. It's fairly easy to use, combine it with the web portal importing feature and I can't imagine why you wouldn't use this for every project. The work on the front end, actually entering the pattern is well worth every effort once your knitting, able to keep up with your count, row count, time spent knitting. The tech support is very responsive with assisting on answering questions. Top notch product, not sure how I completed lace patterns without it...oh wait, I wouldn't do them!

Has a lot of potential!

This application has loads of potential to be one that very knitter should have! Unfortunately, it is not, at first blush, user-friendly in the sense that it is easy to jump right into using it. The upside is that there are great on-line tutorials you can use to figure out how to use the product! I think I will use this application for a long time to come! I hope they continue to make it user friendly and put a direct link from the application directly to their website! Maybe even add a FAQ with direct links to their well done tutorials!

Awesome!

Yes, there is a learning curve and I know I still need to learn more but by golly once it's in, no more flipping between a counter that doesn't keep you on track and a PDF. I'm not getting lost! It's well worth the premium upgrade on the portal too. Help is readily available on Ravelry. Just can't praise this enough even if you are like me and mostly do scarves and shawls.

HD version

I like the app, however I am disappointed that, because I have been a customer for a while I don't get to reap the rewards of the new HD version without having to pay again. This being one of the more expensive knitting apps, you would hope they would let you upgrade to the HD version for at least a minimal amount if not free. Especially when I bought it there was no version for my iPad.

A must for my knitting!

I tend to go through long periods of time where I will not knit on a project, and despite my best attempts at marking my place in the pattern, I usually lose my place--what row I was on, what increase number, etc. JKnit not only makes it easy for me to always have my pattern available to me on both my iPhone and iPad (I bought the HD version as well), but no matter how long it's been since I picked up my knitting, I know exactly where I am in the pattern. It is one of the best and most useful app purchases I have made!

Way too complicated

Hads1967

There are so many little ways that info has to be inputted for the pattern to show up correctly that playing with it for an hour got me only a little closer to being able to have it display a pattern correctly. Between having to determine if something is a block or a piece and what height things have to be at ( which you then have to start counting manually). I am willing to spend the time to input my pattern but for the expense, I want the programs help, not to do it all myself. I deleted the program after 1 full day of trying to make it work. Knitting 1,2,3 is way easier even though it is just a counter. At least I didn't feel like throwing my phone across the room. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! $6 is a lot when you can't test it out first

Great app!

Knitting just got even better! I'm an app cheapskate, but this one is well worth the price paid. Depending on how you've kept track in the past, there could definitely a learning curve but developer is right there to help you get the hang of it. Whether you knit on the go or not, this is a great app!!!

Unacceptable!

This is a waste of money. With the time constraints over our valuable knitting time, who wants to re-enter the pattern in an app. It wastes valuable time when it should just scan the pattern in! Refund my money!!! Also to add, they don't respond to your customer service issues. Horrible app and the other reviews are paid reviews. Totally bogus, you might as well retype your pattern and mark it off as you go! Why waste the time inputting your pattern instructions when you want to spend your valuable time knitting? I did say input your pattern, almost like writing code! There is no way to upload your pattern which the creator of this app eludes to. Biggest piece of crap out there!

Fantastic

This is by far my favorite way to keep track of where I am in my knit and crochet projects. Love that you can add row instructions right to the counter and know exactly where you left off no matter how long you put a project down!. The fact that you can do the data entry right on your computer from the web portal is a real time saver and as far as I'm concerned, the icing on the cake. The only thing that would possibly be better is if you could import patterns directly and it would pull the row instructions directly out for you, but even as is it is well worth the money. There is a bit of a learning curve but once you "get it" you'll wonder how you went without it!

Exactly what I needed in a knitting app!

I was hesitant to pay for a knitting app, but I have to say that I'm really pleased with what JKnit can do! It took a few minutes to figure out, but it's super handy to be able to have my pattern and stitch counter in the same app. I can also see this saving me from unfinished projects - I too often have to put down a project for weeks and by the time I get back to it I have no idea where I left off. JKnit can tell me right where to pick back up with my stitch or row count AND the pattern directions!
