So I want to go to japan one day and love there. So I looked up so many apps for kanji. And this is the best one. There are no pay walls unlike some.
I need to learn kanji and this is the best way to learn just like Japanese school children learn!!! ありがとう
I was looking for an electronic substitute of my flash cards. All characters are written against a white backdrop and have kun and on readings with 3 compounds. That's it. You don't have to dale all with ambiguous settings and menus. And it's FREE!!! A must-have. Check out a vocab app of the same developer.
You definitely have to know at least a little bit of what you're doing (like understanding what kanji is verses hirigana and katakana) since there's no tutorial or anything but it's really worth it if you're serious about it. I had memorized hirigana and a little katakana already and now I finally get why learning them first was so important. (They help you pronounce kanji for one thing.) Plus the way the words are set up in the same order that Japanese kids learned them in is strangely motivating for me. As a person who enjoys going off on my own and studying I love this to pieces. There's no background music (which is a plus) and if I do want music I can just play my own (on the same device! Which I couldn't do if I had to mute music from this app because then it would also be muting my music.) So yeah. No complaints.
