The new James Madison’s Montpelier app makes history come alive at Montpelier, the historic home and grounds of President James Madison, the Father of the Constitution, and his vivacious wife Dolley. See the Madisons’ works of art and fine china, explore the latest archaeological excavations, and even discover the hiking trails of the Landmark Forest, all in stunning detail with interactive maps and image galleries.

Visitors to the estate will love its “salubrious offerings” through the audio narrative of the grounds, images of the Madison and enslaved cemeteries, a Civil War encampment, and, of course, Mr. Madison’s Temple, which hides a two story ice house beneath.

This virtual tour enhances any visit to Montpelier and is a great opportunity to see one of America’s most historic sites from the comfort of your home.

Download the app today and start planning your visit.

I have tried many apps for touring historic sites and this is the best. Easy navigation, beautiful pictures, tons of detailed info about James Madison and Dolley Madison. Check this out and then visit Montpelier in Orange, VA for a real treat.

This app is the future for historic sites. No more audio guides on its own, this app brings Montpelier to your home. I can't wait to go back and visit.

James Madison has a great house and lots of archeology is evidently happening. Love this app. Love the photos.

Impressive research and compilation!

I was delighted to be one of the narrators for this fine piece or work which was painstakingly researched, developed and brought to life through its text. It stands alone quite well and I can only imagine how much it enhances an actual walking tour of the Montpelier estate and grounds.

All historical sites should have an app like this
Four Jordans

This app is a terrific way to help do-it-yourselfers enjoy and learn about this beautiful property so rich in history. Kudos to the Montpelier Foundation staff who developed it.
