I am a big fan. After a few updates I'm sure the environment will be a little more stable, as it's currently a little buggy. But, I've pulled two "test runs" on jobs that were already sold and the measurements provided were very close to my own. Previously with other services my standard variance will be +/- 10% where James Hardie's app is coming out to ~2% variance. Also, one report came back in 1.5hrs! Which is pretty incredible, as I'm used to waiting 2 days in some cases with other services. Overall excellent app! I can't wait to see what future updates will bring.
Should be FREE to Architects

If James Hardie wants Architects to promote and specify there product, this app should be free for Architects to use. I specify a lot of "Hardie Board" and this is what we get? I may need to go to another manufacturer to specify. My clients would love to see this app in use on their home, but not at $35 per house. I design about 110 projects a year.....do the math. My liability insurance is just a little more than that. Let me know when it's free. Thanks!

Right off the bat, once loaded, both the Hover app and one of the mfg specific versions, Contractors Eye, prevent you from logging in, by covering up the fields with the keyboard screen! Landscape mode seems to have a problem from the onset...This doesn't inspire confidence when I cannot even see the login fields. Come on guys...

This app may work great for new construction or for houses that have almost no vegetation, but it does not work when the house has much vegetation around it. Another limitation is that if the house is on a smaller size lot or you just can't get far enough from the house to get the full side of the house in a single photo, the app does not work well either.

This app does work great for imagery and showcasing the various James Hardie products and has the potential to be awesome. Unfortunately you can't change the color of items that aren't James Hardie like doors, garage doors and windows. Those just show up white and if you're thinking about a color, such as bronze window frames, for additional contrast it's impossible to show that and what might be a sharp looking home in theory can't be adequately represented to the customer.

I've been using other apps and software for years that have tried to cover and do what half this app does, I've been a proud Hardi Alliance Member and a GAF Certified Contractor and with this App they've changed the game. On my usual estimates and home layouts to measure all siding, trim, Windows, doors, gutters, soffit and the roof layout would take 3-5 hours then I would have to go spend hours at the office putting all the info together and making a presentable packet for the client, with this I take 8 pictures of the house and I'm on my way to another job witching 15 minutest my options. Then within 24 hours the reports ready and I'm ready to bring the client to my showroom and office and truly impress them by showing there their home in an impressive 3D model, and if that wasn't impressive enough to the client I then start showing then what all the siding options, roof options, trim options, doors and many more, I've not had 1 client leave my office after going through the Hover experience and not leaving without a signed contract, I now do this on every single property I go too, It's truly a must have for anyone in the remodeling industry. I can't say enough Good things about this App. Hisel Construction will always use this app.
Extremely limited, and expensive.

The app is limited with its capabilities. First house failed to generate 3D because I couldn't get far enough away for a full photo. Even the photos that did go through had "errors." No mention of the cost to generate a 3D rendering up front. Yeah, the app is free, the rendering is not, which is fine, but $35 a house, and it's not even reliable... yeah, I'll pass. Nice idea, very shotty implementation and shady behind the doors pricing.
