propel their own particle to the goal. New levels bring new challenges and
new forces to contend with. Players have to budget their energy use as they
grapple with gravity, electric forces, and the effects of Newton's laws of
motion.

Hint: Be Patient, don't get click happy. Click on one side of the green
particle to create an explosion which propels it in the opposite direction
towards the goal. Closer you click the faster it goes.

EdGE — On the edge of science and play! The Educational Gaming Environments group (EdGE) at TERC hopes to show that learning happens in all kinds of places by investigating the possibilities—and challenging the assumptions—of game-based learning environments. EdGE is designing and studying games whose mechanics mirror real scientific phenomena, but more importantly, are fun to play.

Love this game!!

I'm having so much fun playing this game….beautiful graphics and easy to get into, but quickly very challenging.

Addictive!

Hard, but fun. I can't stop playing this game!

Simple interface teaches a good deal of Newtonian physics

Don't let the beautiful graphics or seemly simple game rules fool you, this is a first-rate educational game. As you move through the increasingly complicated levels, more and more real world physics plays into the solution. A most enjoyable way to learn--and teach! Hint: use impulses to move obstacles, not just your "game piece." Bank shots are also helpful!

Easy at first, but

Fun game, easy to get into and make progress at first. Harder later on! Having an understanding of the physics involved (or learning on the fly as you progress) helps, but it still can get pretty tough! Watch your energy use and be strategic.

AWESOME game!

The most fun refresher of Newton's second law of motion ever! This particle propelling game is totally addictive and captivating (and I'm an adult). Can't wait to commandeer my husband's iPad to play it (I previously played it on a laptop). Go go EdGE@TERC and GameGurus!

Really cool game!

Impulse is sort of like playing pool in space, with all the other balls chasing you and the pockets moving! Awesome concept, and rather challenging.
