iMoves displays your live position, movements and local information using GPS, compass and accelerometer sensors of your device and uses the internet for local weather if an internet connection is available.
Available settings
- Theme: day or night (or automatic)
- Disable autolock: never, when charging or always
- Distance units: metric, imperial and nautical
- Temperature units: °C and °F
- Compass calibration: magnetic or true north

iMoves has 2 in-app purchases to unlock features:
- Unlimited: remove the 15 minutes tracking limit per activity or trip for good

We are making our very best to make it the most efficient possible in order to save your battery. Anyway, continuous use of GPS running in background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Usually crashes while recording, and often crashes when opening a recording.

No app ad-man
There are four categories of activity trackers available through the App Store: A) simple step counters, B) minimal yet highly informative activity trackers, C) bloated, convoluted, over-engineered resource hogs typical of most "fun runner" apps, D) traditional GPS for mapping/driving, etc. This category B app deserves a best of award. I bought this app, used it and made some suggestions (which the developer acknowledged and incorporated into this most recent release). A superb example of minimal, highly informative activity trackers. Excellent developer communication – fast, courteous and professional.

A run mapper app which doesn't want my email or Facebook info. Please boycott those other apps which are an invasion of privacy, and use this one.
Nearly perfect so far

Simple and clear functionality. Tracks steps, time, and distance, and provides a map of your route. Press start when you want to start tracking, stop when you want to stop. Does not require you to open an account! Criticism (I hope this is a bug): it's great that you can try the app out before making it truly functional with the in-app purchase. However, prior to purchase, after a few minutes of using the app, you are confronted with a seemingly unending barrage of notifications informing you that you have 7 minutes or so left to go with the trial. This makes the app nearly unusable and effectively limits the trial period to just a few minutes.
Nice but needs one thing to be great.

App works nice but I only use it for boating and would be awesome if you could have old routes plotted up while you were recording new ones. Just so you can tell if you are in the same area as before or use as a guide when out in open water.

Very nice app. The only problem I have with it is that when you export a GPX file, although the time is listed as Zulu time, it is in fact local time.

It used to be accurate but I think there are now some compatibility issues with iOS9. I had this app running for 10hrs on a trail with the phone in my pocket. It only recorded 26 points! I made sure iOS settings are OK and took it for a walk again. It counted 1200 steps and only 1 point! It looks I did all those steps not even moving from where I started!
