Needs to show count of capters

Timawiseman

This is an excellent program for beginners but it would greatly benefit from showing the count of captured stones during and after the game.

Worked great until ios6. Now not able to edit and replay games. Very frustrating!

Tried and true

Just like its namesake (igowin for the PC) which has been a staple AI go program for many years. The only sticking point is the clunky interface outside of the actual gameplay....navigating to the settings, help pages, etcetera is not fun. And, downright counterintuitive. Other than that, I would recommend it to any intermediate level player or complete novice who wants to get better at the game and not bother your neighbor in the middle of the night to improve your skills.

Love it!

I am a big fan of Go and loved this program on my Windows computer, but I no longer had that computer so I searched for Go in the App store. Luckily, the best Go App is available here for download, available to be taken with you anywhere for a challenge whenever you have the desire to play! The AI is often frustrating in its difficulty but that is what makes this App so great! I believe I have only gotten up to 12 or 11 Kyu in iGoWin. Easily worth the purchase price!

Smart adaptive play

Just to test it out, I set its strength to my rating, then tanked a few 9x9 games. It responded by lowering its strength and dropping my rating. I then switched to 13x13 games and played straight up. Within a dozen games it correctly ascertained my true rating all the while ratcheting up its playing strength. I saved a game I lost by half a point, went into edit mode, backed up to where I thought I'd lost sente, played my alternate move, then had it continue live play from that point. I was then able to back out of the alternate play and add comments to explain each of the moves. I've since used this as a teaching game. Finally, it plays 19x19 games with good openings, balanced middle game play, and will catch you napping in end game tactics if you slack off. Strongly recommend this for newbies, and believe even low dan players will (giving a stone or two) will find this to be a strong, consistent, quick-playing opponent, always at the ready.

Ranking system is nice

ABR3434

This app estimates your strength from games (win/loss record) and can set the opponent strength and handicap automatically. Really nice feature that means you're not always losing or winning and makes the game fun. I think it's better for progress also. The only lacks in the game are the board is not as nice-looking as some of the other go games out there, and the missing landscape mode. Update: cudos for bringing it to 64-bit and keeping it alive!

Update for iOS 10 please!

Thank you for updating for 64-bit! Love it!

Excellent

This is a really superb go program. Hands down the best out there.
