I know I have. That's why I wrote iGoBy.
iGoBy allows you to set reminders based on geographic location, which will pop-up when you go by. It utilizes an optimized GPS mechanism, so it can provide you with a precise and power-efficient experience.

Do note that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. That said, I have made every effort to decrease GPS usage to the bare necessity, and I feel the resulting drain is minimal. If you believe this to be untrue, let me know.

the mapping engine is useless. for my area, only shows two roads??? google maps, for example shows all of the couple of hundred roads in the area
