I own 7 iDevices products, purchased from Amazon and directly from this company over 2 years. Once configured, assuming your wifi settings never change, these things work like a dream. IF you move or change your wifi password or replace your router, however, things get really interesting. I am a software developer with 2 graduate degrees and it takes me over an hour PER DEVICE to configure successfully. The procedure for adding a switch fails over and over again. Yes, Apple makes HomeKit very hard to implement, but COME ON! The iDevices pairing/setup process is utterly and irrevocably broken and has been across many, many needless app and firmware updates. On top of this, everything I need to do frequently is buried under many, many pointless screens and confirmation dialogs in the app. iDevices! Fix your freaking bugs!

I love the convenience of being able to manage the thermostat from my phone and with Siri, that’s the whole point of this kind of product, and that works but there are a couple things with this app that just don’t. Setting up a schedule was easy enough (though it could be better) - however the thermostat ignores it, it doesn’t change when it’s supposed to, even without override ever being used. Overriding on a timer doesn’t work - doesn’t matter how long or short I set it it just stays on indefinitely. Other minor things too but those are the biggest problems...

...Although I’ve noticed one weird quirk recently, which could just as easily be a design flaw in HoneKit. While going on vacation across two time zones I noticed that the settings adjusted to times at my location! As far as I knew the house did not travel with us and headache of noticing and adjusting timing to this reality in my head was an unnecessary one! If HomeKit is not smart enough to accommodate the reality that buildings are static in nature and that we tend to quantify timing based on it’s local time, maybe your app can offer a time zone lock feature. As the end of August has come and gone this flaw necessarily impacts everyone twice a year, not just travelers. You have to manually readjust for daylight savings too!

All I want to do is setup my new Wi-Fi outlet, not control everything with this app that doesn’t work. Trash.

Initial pairing is overly complex, but once you’re connected it’s a great ecosystem. Feature suggestion: Add “sunrise” and “sunset” timing functions natively (I don’t want it through IFTTT). These are very basic capabilities that other Smart devices support within their own firmware.

After the last update the temperature unit has changed from Fahrenheit to celsius by itself and I cannot change it back to Fahrenheit.

I have seven switches including one outdoor switch. These are meant to control various lights, including Christmas decorations. The outdoor switch particularly needs constant resetting to remain paired with the app. Very frustrating as this means you can no longer control it either when you are away from home or even via the app when you are home. You are constrained to go to the switch and turn it on or shut it off manually. Defeats the entire purpose of having the thing

It worked for about 10 minutes now it’s 30° and the heater doesn’t come on because the app and your thermostat doesn’t connect to work

Hard to set up, need a manual, very awkward user interface. Teeny little bitty letters on an empty page, hard to see. I’m having trouble setting a simple daily timer. I guess I’m stupid. Enormous file.
