A few poor design choices ruin it.

Don't bother with this one. Most of the time the 3D backgrounds are just cosmetic and aren't part of the game field, but there will be random times where suddenly the 3D backgrounds aren't just for show and you can run in to them and die. Worse yet these 'backgrounds' look *exactly* the same as the ones that don't kill you and there is *no* warning. It's ridiculous and takes all the fun out of the game. I could probably look past the lackluster sound effects, imprecise controls, and boring bosses if it weren't for the glaring issue above. Seriously there are many other awesome shooters on the App Store. Look elsewhere for your shoot 'em up needs.

Solid controls, fun music, pretty sweet graphics, & the file size is nice & small. Shmup fans rejoice!!

I only bought the game because it reminded me of Einhander (one of the best shooters ever ???). This shooter was ok but got bored as soon as I reached the boss battle on the first level/map. The background for the first map is constantly the same (that's a huge satellite or whatever it is ??) to a point where you might get dizzy if you stare at it ?. More plane options would've been awesome but doubt it will happen. The enemies could've had more color to them but then again if the company tried to make the space ships more tactical-looking then they did their jobs. Oh and I'm sorry but I hate the robotic voice telling what I acquire and/or lost. Wish I could mute the voice.
An absolute must have if you're a stg/shmup player

Icarus-X is an absolute must have for fans of the stg/shmup genre. The game is extremely polished and plays great. No hiccups or frame rate drops. I love the robotic voice. Reminds me of G.O.R.F the arcade game from the 80s. The game is difficult but satisfying.

awesome game with great style (early 90s vibe). the only issue that I have is its hard to keep up with all the action. the ship has a speed limit, rather than fast as you swipe. which is ok I'm getting the hang of it, I figure it's part of the challenge.
Please update for iOS 11 :)
