I think having the main character as just a running shoe as opposed to an actual animated runner is perfectly fine, but I think the game could use some improvements to the graphics/artwork.

This game is simple. Jump with the shoe to get over the hurdle. It's harder than it sounds! -1 star because I think the UI could be improved and I think Game Center integration would be nice.
