Not Intuitive

Poor instructions. Probably intuitive for whomever wrote this app but frustrating for those of us that purchased it. Tried for the better part of an hour to get it to work. Then deleted it and moved on.

Supplies much needed feature for Hue

Hue has the potential to be a cost-effective, automated lighting system. But the native software is weak, as is most of the 3rd part stuff at the iTunes store. Obvious shortcoming of all of them: you can't automate turning a light or lights on at sundown, or sundown plus or minus any amount of time in the event your house is in the shade or in the open. Kind of obvious need, keying lights around the sun. Even IFTTT scripts aren’t the answer, since IFTTT doesn’t update continuously. So instead, you get “Around sundown” kind of scripts, the 15 minutes margin for IFTTT updates. Hue Sunset solves this problem by allowing you to accurately and automatically turn lights on and off depending on your location and when sunset occurs. And the developer is incredibly responsive in the event you have any kind of problem getting this going.

Satisfied

Im a happy customer. At first, I was a bit frustrated because I couldn't get it to work and long instructions. I emailed support and got a response within 5-10 minutes with clear and easy to follow instructions. It's been working flawless ever since. The main thing is you first have to set timer/s on the original Hue app; only then you can use Hue Sunset to edit your timer/s precisely to your liking. For ex., I live in Miami, FL; I got my front door light to turn on everyday at 8:16pm and turn off at 5:45am.

Works well!

This missing feature should be built into the Hue app. Until then, this app does the trick.

A very useful app with great technical support

I have used this app for about a week and find that it works as advertised and is a great way to adjust the on and off times of Hue lights with respect to sunset and sunrise. In addition, technical support for this app is superb. Questions are answered promptly and with clear explanations.

No longer works
Chiefmanykey

No longer work. Used to be connected to the first hue app but they deleted that and I know this app no longer works!

It still works for me
Michael 0075

Hue Sunset adjusts light schedules created on the Philips hue system so that they follow sunset through out the year. Hue Sunset has been doing this successfully on my hue system for over three years. It still works, but you may need to read the instructions or contact support to deal with some of the hue complexities.

Doesn't find my hubs

While other apps have no trouble finding the bridges, this one fails. No matter the intervention...
