Best EQ Player on iOS...Period!

If you like having a multi band EQ you can tweak in an app that works with your existing iTunes Music library(Playlists!) or other cloud based library...then HS Player is for you. I’m impressed this app remains free without ads yet does most everything I miss about PowerAmp from my Android days. Well done! The sound. Yes it’s incredible. The EQ and ability to make music louder makes this a must for audiophiles. I don’t understand why the default music player on iPod/iPhone doesn’t sound this good on its own but HS Player saves the music experience. Anytime I’ve contacted the developer he’s been responsive and implemented ideas and fixes. No issues with current release. Highly recommend HS player.

When an album has several songs by different artists, like a Smooth Jazz album with 60 songs by 20 different artists, the album will appear 20 times in the album list. That is a pain when you want to just listen to the whole album without having to select it 20 times, especially while driving.

Trying to find an equalizer that doesn’t require subscriptions, setting up a user account, uploading your music to their format/server, along with an assortment of other hassles..., was just a hassle. I loaded several apps before coming across the HS player, and this app is just what it should be. Install, open your existing playlist, select more, open the equalizer and go. Simple as that, and likely more than what I know it can do.

Very good music app but playlists stopped working recently. I can’t add (but can remove) new songs to existing or new playlists. Otherwise near perfect app!

Seems to be good. But very basic. I can’t find a way to delete songs!!! Maybe the creator or other users can tell us where that important function is hidden, assuming it is there...

The fact that it works on iPads without rescaling makes this app fairly unique. One thing that I would ask is for the app to report the type of file it’s playing (ALAC, AAC, FLAC etc..), the bit rate (128, 320 kbps), bit depth (16, 24 bit) and sample rate (44khz, 96khz). Thanks for all your hard work. One glitch that I found: At least on my iPad Pro(12.9 2018) swapping to another app and back to HS Player causes the album art as well as the play controls to shrink and move up the screen. This happens on both portrait and landscape orientations. It does not happen on my iPhone XS Max.
