Howie Find Vowels Lite (Multi-User) is a vowel game to improve your child's reading and writing skills. Learning vowels helps your child to distinguish distinct words such as fan fin fine fun, and recognize those words easily. This app is useful not only for reading but spelling and writing also. It uses phonics to help your child learn new words by putting sounds together to make words (like /b/ /a/ /t/ bat). So your child will be able to read and write words correctly without memorizing. All of the app’s 80 words can be sounded out using common phonics rules grouped by Short Vowel, Long Vowel, Bossy R's and other Vowel Team words. In this game, your child will find the missing vowel in the word. Each correct word will feed Howie a hotdog. He is very hungry, so try to find as many correct vowels as you can!

Howie Find Vowels Lite (Multi-User) also includes a progress report for a parent and teacher. The report allows them to track their child’s performance grouped by vowel sounds, and provides play history with game details (i.e, On this date, your child played level 1 and level 2 and in each game, what item was asked and what your child answered). An additional setup option allows for a parent or teacher to customize the number of questions to match their child. We also include the options for self-correction (i.e, kids could correct their answer in the second try) and clearing out all the reports. This game will help your child improve their reading and writing skills in a fun and interactive environment.
**Plus, this game allows multiple users, so parent or teacher can add more than one user (**In full version, you can add up to 30 users) to customize the level of difficulty and keep the progress report for individual child.

***In the full version, your child can learn more words (up to 1,110 words) and the setup option allows for a parent or teacher to control the level of word difficulty to match their child. (i.e, CVC words are included in easy level, digraphs are in medium level and blends are in the difficult level).

My first graders really loved using this app in class. It reviewed short and long vowels.m they enjoyed seeing Howie eat the hot dogs.

Overall, I find the Howie apps effective. The learner cannot repeatedly submit the same incorrect response in an infinite loop. I also like the reports that are available. It would be even better if there were levels, and mastery had to be demonstrated before moving on, for example long vowels could not be accessed before short vowels were mastered. That being said , I have to ask if you can adjust the verbal prompt in this app. The learner is asked to "Find the vowel in 'toy'." Technically, they are choosing two letters, not just a vowel. It would be better if the prompt was "Choose the letters that complete the word 'toy'." Thank you for such a solid start, I hope you find my suggestions helpful.
